All I can remember about this trip was being poor and having pre match drinks in Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem

I was at this game but I can't remember a large following.
Mind you, there wasn't much to cheer about. Forest had the makings of a good side though, especially when you consider that their unused sub was John Robertson.

I went to this game but don't recall much of the game now other than that we didn't play particularly well and were well beat at the end.

I walked to the City Ground from Nottingham main rail station which was a fair hike. I called in a clothes shop on the way and remember to this day the music was that being played in the shop at the time. It was Nazareth's Morning Dew which I liked so much that I bought the Nazareth album it was on.

Very disappointing when I saw the result pop up on the TV. When I saw my brother a week or two later he admitted that we didn't play well but then blamed it on his 'pet excuse of rarely getting anything in the East Midlands especially on a dry, bumpy pitch. I had final exams looming and this result wasn't going to help with my preparations.

I seem to remember Bob Chapman scoring an own goal for us at Turf Moor a few years earlier.

I went to the game and was in with the Forest supporters, so probably good thing we didn't score

He did. It was in our 5-0 win against them in 1970. We removed Harry Potts as manager two days later.

I went with my brother and a couple of friends, we were in with forest fans so not sure what our following was like.
The excitement of expectation soon wore off.
We got dogs abuse and a lot of threatening looks from the locals, so God knows what it would have been like if we'd won.

There were 4 of us who went to the game and I remember we were in the paddock with Forest fans as well.
Had segregation of visiting fans been started then?

We had a pathetic following that day. I don't know where Tony gets the over a thousand figure. Forest fans met us at the station, goading us about the poor following with an ironic chant about our top of the table following.

This was before segregation, so those Clarets who were there would be spread out.

I went to most away games that season, and apart from Blackpool and Preston you wouldn't have known there were any away fans present. I'm sure we must have had a big following at Villa Park, but you couldn't tell.

Figure given out by the club and local press - following was far from pathetic, a hell of a lot of Burnley fans there that day.

I went on the special train to Villa and the turn out was big but, as you say, we were spread all around the ground. We were behind the goals that day opposite to the Holte End.
