When will Burnley share the 2020 accounts?
When will Burnley share the 2020 accounts?
Normally they send them out last week in March. Anybody any idea if they've been delayed for some reason?

I assume Chester will have covered this in the MMT.

Posted about this in several threads in the last few months - last summer we changed the date of the accounts to the end of July from the end of June - this allowed us to put the whole seasons revenue's and costs into a single set of accounts - so none of the wild losses you have seen at other clubs who did not do that. The changed accounting period gives leeway in reporting time - we have up to another month to wait before they have to be legally posted. Having said that West Brom changed their period like us and posted there Accounts today, at the same time they normally would. Sheffield United and possibly Crystal Palace have also changed accounting date for the same reasons, both are yet to publish their accounts too.

In addition to Chester's post, Companies House have extended filing deadlines by three months because of the pandemic.

Red ink shortage I’m told.

Actually, if you change your accounting date even by 1 day they give you a 3 month extension at Companies House, so our accounts won't have to be filed until end of June. Newcastle did that last year. I have no idea why Companies House haven't blocked that loophole.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Wed Mar 31, 2021 6:49 pmPosted about this in several threads in the last few months - last summer we changed the date of the accounts to the end of July from the end of June - this allowed us to put the whole seasons revenue's and costs into a single set of accounts - so none of the wild losses you have seen at other clubs who did not do that. On the other hand, the accounts have to be with the PL by Christmas, I believe, and I'm sure they will have been audited and signed off before the takeover. So no reason why they couldn't publish them now, if they wanted to.

I wouldn't be surprised if we were close to the black even with 13 months of wages

The 1 day change is only if you shorten year ends, we've extended, so the filing date hasn't changed from the covid extension we were given.

Still in the oven?
Re: When will Burnley share the 2020 accounts?
Thanks. I didn't realise that. In that case, I don't think the automatic covid filing 3 month extension would apply, because the change of date to July makes the filing deadline 30th April 2021, outside the automatic extension period. But they might have sent in an actual application so it could still be June. Or even July.Little_britton wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 10:52 pmThe 1 day change is only if you shorten year ends, we've extended, so the filing date hasn't changed from the covid extension we were given.

Hi dsr, I guess I'm as surprised as you to see that the club has published the accounts on the club website today. (They aren't shown as filed on Companies House, yet. I'd now expect the accounts to be there next week - after the bank/hol w/end etc).
Interesting to see that they were signed off, by Alan Pace on 1st March 2021. Similarly, the auditors signed their report on that date.
