As in following burnley. Weve had big highs and massive lows but whats ur standout clarets memory. Of all the recent highs and distant lows randomly mine is my first ever away game . Season before we won the 4th div we beat wrexham at the racecourse 4-2 (then won in champ season follwing year 6-2) I remember being in awe of the away following and burnley fans setting off fireworks ( must of been around bonfire night) and spent more time looking round the crowd buzzing . Went to walsall the following week I think it was. Our first trip to the bescot think we drew 2-2 . And again was loving the burnley fans and really thought ...wow we r such a massive club ....but I suppose we were back in the dark old days !!!!

Think mine was the play off final at Wembley when Wade scored the goal that got us into the Premier League.What a day that was.
Running it a close second was the Orient game and Ian Britton's goal that kept us in the Football League.

Sidewalk 53 after winning the 4th division I think it was. NEVER I have a been in a pub as bouncing as that. Absolutely amazing.

I can think of many stand-out achievements.
but as I live miles away from Burnley, and couldn't watch live from 1975 until the early nineties (long sentence

) I'd go for games I was at: the play-off win at Plymouth and the penalty shoot out win at Chelsea.

My earliest memory of an away game was a cup game against Liverpool. Must of been around 1995 as I remember having that yellow/black away top in primary school with Eyres on the back.

Coming out onto the stand from the concourse I was in awe at the stadium atmosphere, the lights and the noise. Being pre-11 years old and watching us mainly at home since 1990/91 it was like another world altogether for me.

First time I saw us play at Elland Rd against Leeds. Back then I thought you couldn't get more passionate and football crazy as us Burnley fans but the Leeds crowd was on another level that night.

Thats why Leeds became my second team and sub consciously was probably one of the reasons I ended up living in Leeds

Having been exiled in Kent since 1968 my stand out memory is beating Southend 4:1 on a Friday evening to clinch promotion. Shame I can’t remember the year but we were fantastic that night. Also beating Stockport at Wembley was a brilliant day out and my first ever trip to Wembley saw us lose to Wolves in the Sherpa Van final.

Aug 27 2011, I had lived away from Burnley for 34 years and my domestic responsibilities now allowed me to resume following the Clarets. I went up the road to Pride Park to see the magic that the upcoming manager Eddie Howe was working. Two Charlie Austin goals gave us an away win, as I descended the steps in the away end I was grabbed by the shoulders and Rocky cried "Burnley are back" and so was I. For the subsequent nine years I followed our team home and away. Now due to vision issues that is all over but what a time to be an active Claret.

My stand out memory is waking up on the morning of the Orient match and saying to my wife that I had to go. 235 miles later, I parked up and wondered how many would be there, as we were the pits at the time and this could be it.

The memory is walking through the houses onto Brunshaw Road, now HP Way. I looked to my left and there was a sea of faces walking towards the ground from town, Right across the road.

I knew this was a special club. That confirmed it.

For me it was the 1970 FA cup replay against Chelsea at TM. It was just a great football night . The ground (three sided at time) was absolutely rammed. Floodlights and bit of damp/mist in the air. It was one of my first games and although we lost it absolutely hooked me in and all these years later still hooked. UTC

started going in 83 so have seen most of the "big" games over those years, I think all of the stand outs have been mentioned on the thread, like Derby etc. I loved Plymouth away in the play-offs, that was mental but for me I don't think anything will ever beat York, the first real success I had ever tasted as a Claret fan and I was there with some good life long mates. I'm still gutted Mullen hasn't come back to get some appreciation from the supporters

Loads....the two 4-1 away wins at Leeds & Spurs, Deepdale, seeing us at Wembley, York away are a few.
But I'm going for THAT cup tie at Derby.
One of those rare games in football where the result was secondary.
Footballing equivalent of spontaneous combustion.
Just 100% pure Claret & Blue pride and defiance.

Sherpa Van North Final Second Leg at Deepdale. Less than 12 months after we stood on the edge of the precipice we were off to Wembley for the first time in my lifetime. Absolutely mental in the away end that night.

Another vote for nob end in the Sherpa - completely wired all night. There was an old fella in the middle of us screaming ‘you’ll have this fuckin stand down you idiots’ . He did have a point what with timber terracing.
Special mention for Micah Hyde at ewood and olympiakos.

Three, I suppose for different reasons :

1. Losing away at Peterborough, I think in 1990. Someone has brought a big "casper out" Aston villa- type bed sheet with blue writing. He was my boyhood hero. That was the worst I have felt as a burnley fan - not least as I was in the stand not the away end, so that must have been a pregnancy issue.

2. Winning away at Bournemouth about 6 years later. It was the first away win for a year. It was the first time the kids had ever seen us win.

3. The second Michael Keane equaliser at Brighton almost right in front of our noses at which point you sort of got the feeling that we were destined to go up and that justice had been seen to be done.

Kindons goal v Celtic, what a night!

Walking to the bus stop in the 70's with my Dad on Sycamore Ave before home games, same people were always there, the bus was buzzing with football chat. If the rumour went round that the cameras were going to be there i was at fever pitch.

Seeing us walkout at wembley for the first time against Wolves, anyone whose says its a mickey mouse trophy is wrong.

Going 1 down in the first minute against Stockport, i nearly threw up!

Desperately looking to see if Wades goal would be disallowed and a personal memory was at halftime when my hand was shaking.

Blackpool away in 2014, brilliant day

Wembley Sheff Utd... spent the last 10 minutes under the concourse with my dad, felt sick as a dog with nerves. There was another Burnley fan, Sean Tierney who’s no longer with us, he was sat on the floor, god bless him.

Blackburn, Scunthorpe, Reading also unbelievable days. I’ve been going on for 25 years so I’ve been very lucky, particularly the last 20.

Burnley 1-0 Manchester Utd 19th August 2009

I'd had a season ticket from 1989 - 2001, but was by then working every weekend in the motor trade, so only getting to occasional games. My son was working as part of Bolton's Strength & Conditioning team. The month before, a friend from work had been hosting the son/daughter of ex-pats, making their 1st ever visit to England, from LA, whose family were keen Bolton fans. My son managed to get the Bolton squad to sign a shirt for them to take back to the States for their Dad .... my mate says " They're so chuffed, pal, I owe you one ".

The morning of the game, which was sold out, I get a call ... " Hi pal, I've got a spare ticket for tonight and one good turn deserves another ! "
I'm sitting on the front row of the JHU, just above the " C " of " Lucozade " !! The place was jumping ....

Chelsea away in the League Cup, I bought tickets with my friends because we were going to London that week anyway, just thought it’ll be something to do while we were down there.

On reflection I must’ve got the last few tickets, we were right at the back in the top corner under the big screen. I knew it was going to be a sell-out but when we arrived before the match the place was absolutely buzzing.

Missed Wembley 2009/10 so will go with Scunthorpe away when we were promoted to the Championship, just a brilliant day from start to finish.

Glorious hot sunshine, coach with Barrowford Clarets, beer/lunch stop in Google, ground packed with Clarets, fabulous winning goal from Glen Little, friendly pitch invasion and celebrations.

Beer stop near Todmorden on way back, people lining the streets clapping and cheering the returning coaches as we got back to the town centre, beers in a bouncing Plumbe Street Miners and a rowdy sing-a-long, karaoke with family in the Commercial up Harle Syke and a mixed kebab on naan for supper from Eastern Delight to round it all off - fantastic day!

The winning of the First Division trophy at Man City in 1959. I travelled with my grandad in the back of my dad’s Burnley Express van. We had to leave it about a mile short of the ground because the crowd was so great. My grandad and I queued at several turnstiles which shut, until I spotted a children’s one which I went through, waiting patiently for grandad to get through his adult turnstile. Suddenly he appeared through the children’s one having slipped the operator a few shillings. As we climbed the terraces a great shout went up -we had scored! Then City scored and our end went quiet. We had no view from the back of the terrace but when we scored again the crowd surged forwards and we found ourselves halfway down the terrace and a perfect view of the rest of the game.
The rest of the game remains a blur until the final whistle. As we returned home along the valley we were a few moments ahead of the team bus. The streets were lined with supporters, many of them in their night clothes and dressing gowns ready to cheer home the Clarets. Eventually we reached Burnley and waited outside the town hall, along with loads of people, until the team bus arrived and the team were met by the mayor. Dad of course was busy taking photos of the occasion. I didn’t sleep that night but still had to go to school in Blackburn the next day.
It may be 63 years ago but I can remember every moment.

Just a few which really meant so much to me during my many years of watching the Clarets :
Maine Road to see us win the top division.
Reims at home - we were actually competing in the European Cup
Youth Cup Final against Coventry on the Turf.
Preston away to win promotion.
Carlisle away (I couldn't get to York, I was abroad on business)
Wembley playoff against the blades
Man Utd at home in the PL for the first time.
There are many more but these are the ones which stand out for me.
