Is the triallist the Defender from West Brom?
Re: ARTICLE: Under-23s home programme to end at Curzon Ashton
Or are we having another look at the lad from Blackburn?

With the scores at the minute today we've just dropped out of the play off places.

0-0 after 25 mins. We’ve had a goal disallowed but looked harsh.

That's an understatement, ridiculous decision. Norwich defenders took each other out after Richardson's cute turn and somehow the ref saw it as a foul by Richardson.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 2:27 pm0-0 after 25 mins. We’ve had a goal disallowed but looked harsh.

Nartey poor mistake for first, long ball between the two central defenders for second. We hit the bar between the two goals.

Looks like training and travelling with the first team has been detrimental to some of our lads.

Nartey is usually Mr Reliable at the back, got caught far too easily there.

Half way through second half. We’ve had more of the play but not really threatening.

Re: ARTICLE: Under-23s home programme to end at Curzon Ashton
Very similar to Sunday's game. We had the best of the play, had a goal disallowed very harshly, gave a goal away and missed chances when we were on top and they capitalised because they always looked dangerous on the break.
Worked hard to get back on level terms but never looked like winning it.
You have to take your chances when you are on top otherwise it comes back to bite you.

Re: ARTICLE: Under-23s home programme to end at Curzon Ashton
Great comeback by the lads, shows they have plenty of character, and Richardson on the scoresheet again.
Re: ARTICLE: Under-23s home programme to end at Curzon Ashton
Gomez Mancini and Richardson again looked a class above.
Thompson looks to be bulking up a bit which is good, still think he's a better striker than winger but just like the first team the U23s are really short of wingers and he's not bad out there. Costelloe took his goal very well.

I've picked those two out along with Glennon and Costelloe who I thought linked up really well down the left in the second half.

I liked the trialist. He looked good with both feet, and headed the ball well, decent throw-in too.
i'm not too sure about Richter,to be honest, I think he's a bit shakey coming off his line.

On what scale would you rate the under 23 keeper Richter then Billboatshed bill wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 5:32 pmI liked the trialist. He looked good with both feet, and headed the ball well, decent throw-in too.

First time I’ve seen Richter. I suppose he’s benefited in terms of game time because of Jensen being out on loan.

CT, I've seen him in some of these streamed games.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 7:36 pmFirst time I’ve seen Richter. I suppose he’s benefited in terms of game time because of Jensen being out on loan.
I don't like to be too critical of players who are still developing their game, but I would say he needs to improve his one-on-one work, coming off his line.

It’s a shame we didn’t get the three points yesterday. Richardson could potentially have started a couple of games if we had nothing to play for.

I wouldn't be too concerned about being critical given the coach has given them another public blasting.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 8:07 pmCT, I've seen him in some of these streamed games.

Yeah, the results have been pretty good for our first season at this level but you do have to question how Stone seems to speak and you can understand why there were those reported complaints that led to his suspension.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 11:04 amI wouldn't be too concerned about being critical given the coach has given them another public blasting.

Having just read the report on the official site, what has he said that he shouldn't.
Cotton wooling this age group then chucking some in a senior squad would do none of them any good

Stone's quoted remarks are in stark contrast to the tone adopted by Dyche, however poor the performance he is commenting on.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 11:18 amHaving just read the report on the official site, what has he said that he shouldn't.

Spot on re Steve Stone .Its necessary to explain what's required re standards and performance of the players , excepting 2nd best has led to losses in this and the first team.

I was talking to a good friend who is an official and who officiated at one of our Under 23 games, he was amazed at Steve Stone's general behaviour towards his own players and the onfield officials.
Mind you, there are plenty of other clubs and coaches who are just as bad and possibly worse.

I wonder if Stone is one of those coaches who gets frustrated at his charges not being as good as he was as a player ( England Imternational etc. )

Townson is another. Some really get into it a lot more than others. I think closer to the touchline it would be similar even with Dyche and Woan.
Young players need discipline but there's a fine line between that and bullying.

Exactly. The young lady left the egg off my sausage egg McMuffin today but I’d be appalled if her manager told her off in front of customers. There’s a time and a place for a sit down and discussion and it’s not in public.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 11:59 amDo you think it is necessary to say it to the whole world?

Maybe it is part of getting them used to being slated in this world of social media over reaction. I know times they are a changing, but you need a thick skin to not let the noise around football get to you... might as well get them used to it.
