I thought the offside rule had changed so that if you challenged for the ball from an offside position you were also offside.

No idea but the Lionesses were poor again, and both goals were gifted to Canada, I can't see any joy coming England's way this summer by either the men or the women at this rate.

Better news for NI women who are on the verge of qualifying for their 1st ever major tournament, for a nation with their resources that would be some achievement.

Is there any chance that you could warn us that you are on about women’s football in the title so those of us who are still resisting having this rammed down our throats at every opportunity have a chance of avoiding it?

Cheers.
Agree, can you put ‘Not Dead’ and ‘Not identified as Male’

I used to watch non league football quite regularly and I have to say that I'm quite shocked at the quantity and type of errors we see in the women's game at international level.

Doesn't take anything away from what Northern Ireland just did in qualifying for the Euros. As Kenny Shiels pointed out, they're a bunch of Irish semi-pro girls who've gone toe to toe with teams who have girls playing in the best teams in the world. Fairy tale stuff for them which is what football is all about.

Arse, I'm sure I said I wasn't going to watch the women's football. It really was crap though. The Ukrainian foul for the sending off was ridiculous.

Agreed they were pretty poor. The mistakes aside the team doesn't really seem to know how to make use of the players they have. They either need to get a system that suits the players or pick players to suit the system. At the moment they just seem to be trying to shoehorn the best players in without making use of them.

If Nick Pope is " not good " with his feet, then I dread to think what Mr Southgate would make of Karen Bardsley ... 8-)

Goodness me, he proper takes her out, with zero interest in the ball.

A red all day long.

Back to the lionesses ( as they're wanting/ branding to be known ) I only watched the last 20, and up until Canada's 2nd they looked in control and had a few bright bits of passing play.
However like all football "coaching" seems to be going, its dozens of pointless passing and very little in terms of real goal mouth action.

She would have got to the ball first. She could just have launched it.

Ditto the England pair for Canada' s second goal.

Whoever it is trying to teach these players that have minimal skill that it is a good idea to play out from the back instead of clearing the thing safely needs their heads tested.
