Ben Mee - What a fine captain!

Post by IanMcL » Wed Apr 14, 2021 10:36 pm

Superb interview with Ben Mee, on ClaretPlayer. A very good woman interviewer too. Good questions.

Ben comes across as a thoughtful, caring, mature young man. He represents us and our club very well indeed.

Thank you Ben.

Best wishes to you and your family.

And yet some on this board are happy to see him leave, he's been a fantastic servant to the club both on and off the pitch, and if anyone deserves a testimonial it's him, I know they're rare these days. but so is one player being at a single club for over a decade, which Ben Mee may well achieve with Burnley very soon.

Yes I too hope all is well with Ben's family life, and fatherhood is treating him well, it's easy to forget that footballers do have a life outside of the game as well.

We do have a fine selection of F'wits on this Board but I have never heard anyone suggest that they want him out

Unbelievable that.

Ben is quality. Quality footballer, quality bloke. Delighted he’s our captain, absolutely delighted.

I've said it before that we couldn't wish for a better person representing the club and that interview just reaffirms it. Top bloke doesn't begin to cover it

I’m not sure I’d even bother highlighting 1-2 comments... you’ll always get the attention seeking type that understand very little about football. We do need to start thinking about his replacement though, we may only get a few more seasons out of him.

He’s the sort of player you wish you could clone, will there ever be a more Dyche player? Probably the first name on the team sheet for the last 5 years

Just listened to the interview. A class act. Top man and we are lucky to have him as our captain. Hope he stays with us for a good while longer. And I thought the lady interviewer asked some good questions and let the interview flow.

she works for the BBC, Kelly Somers - I know she has had some lamentable posts on here in the past for her work, completely undeserved of course, but there are too many still like that in this world

Part of the interview was shown on Football Focus last week.

He’s an outstanding captain for us.

Thanks Chester P.
I am not fond of women as pundits on the mens game or vice versa, however, anyone can ask a question or several, however, her questions were excellent.
Well done to Ms Somers for bringing the best out of our Ben.

Begs the question as to which other players in our history would you say also deserve to be called “Mr Burnley”? ... Duff, Payton, James, McIlroy

Well that's a blatant lie. Would you like to point out where I've come out with that or are you mistaking that with me saying him and tarks aren't that good?

Apologies cfs, I did mistake you for right winger. I have amended my original post and duly accept the prick tag for my mistake.

Apologies again (not really sure how I even got the 2 mixed up) my mistake.
