Don't worry about it.
If we get relegated then there's nothing we can do about it.

Get a bet on: you can get 12/1 (Burnley to be relegated) with my bookie- maybe longer if you search around.

You forgot to put now on the end of your middle sentence. I don't think we will go down, but the rhs of midfield was a problem predicted by many pre-season, due to the fitness of Brady and JBG.

After spending several minutes analysing it, I reached the conclusion that we could play Lowts at RM and bring Bards in at RB. Could help avoid negative impact on the goal difference if we have 2 defensive minded players RHS.

I disagree. My world beating , oven ready, infrared draw method from Keynsham, spelt K E Y N S H A M, has revealed the crucial match to be the 8th May encounter with Fulham. It predicts a Clarets win moving them onto 36 points with 3 games remaining. Their two rivals , WBA and Fulham will each be on 26 points after their 8th May fixtures, 10 points adrift, with also 3 games remaining. Another successful season.

I’ve not bothered doing any calculations but I am pretty confident we won’t be needing to check goal differences. Rest comfortably

I wholeheartedly agree we'll be safe by Either the Fulham or failing that the Leeds game.
Sheff Utd, Fulham and West Brom will take the fall down to the Champ. Just enjoy the rest of the season, however the warning signs are alarming, and we definitely do need to strengthen the first XI in the next window.

Frankly I’d be bloody amazed if there are not a few incomings this summer. I think all the noise around the club about updating would be just pointless if the same attitude is not brought to the primary product. One thing they need is a team doing well, or they can hire as many media types as they want, but it will do them not a bit of good.

Maintaining PL status isn't just important, it's absolutely imperative if we're to ever see exactly what the new board could do for us investment wise, but in fairness to the OP our PL future is definitely the balance and we're walking a proper tightrope right now, considering that Soton away and Newcastle at home represented excellent opportunities to put the whole issue to bed and we fluffed our lines.

I mentioned the word important simply because that's the word Pace used and in response to the clear inference that Pace had said relegation wasn't an issue - I'm not aware he suggested any such thing.

Spot on, the failure to accrue at least four points from those two teams with poor form and struggling at the wrong end of the table sets the alarm bells ringing.
We have to question where any further points will come from.

Well, I'd hope from
Man Utd (a)
Wolves (a)
WHU (h)
Fulham (a)
Leeds (h)
Lpool (h)
or
Sheff Utd (a)
If we can't get six points from that lot, we'll deserve to go down.

I agree that this summer is a big one, and that signings need to made but as for empty platitudes, how do you know have you got spies inside Turf Moor or is it because Pace has realised he cannot spend all his time stroking egos?

Exactly this. I know it has happened, but barring a miracle we're getting nowt tomorrow and when you look at our run in fixtures probably our 2 best opportunities for wins have just gone begging. Only Sheff U and Fulham look like serious chances to take all 3 points. People have been going on about the tough run ins for other teams, but ours is bloody hard too. Man U, Leeds, West Ham, Wolves Liverpool....I can't see where the points are coming from, especially when we look so easy to score against all of a sudden.

I know we aren't totally safe but the way some posters talk on here it's as though they'd prefer to be where West Brom and Fulham are as it appears they have a far better chance staying up than we do.

Fulham have to play Arsenal Chelsea Man and Southampton away plus Burnley and Newcastle at home. 9 points would be a great return from those. Total 35
West Brom play Leicester Villa Arsenal Leeds away and Wolves Liverpool and West Ham home. 7 points would be a good return. Total 31
So by my reckoning 3 points will suffice. My bigger worry is how much if anything will the new owners spend in the summer. Without a substantial investment we WILL be relegated next year.

No arguments with any of that, EXCEPT the assumption that we will get 3 points from somewhere. We were leading twice against average to poor teams these last 2 weeks and got nowt because we seem far too open. I can't see us nicking a goal and then hanging on and seeing out crappy, scrappy games at the moment.
