Ditto Happy St George's Day all. and it falls on the centenary of our first ever league title, also of course the date of William Shakespeare's death.

I can take a good guess why. Holier than thou types proclaiming how they don’t care about St. George’s Day no doubt. Anyway hope you’ve had a great day celebrating the patron saint of this great nation.

And the same to you, makes me wonder if these politically correct people would accuse the Irish of being racist for celebrating St Patrick’s day or the Scots or Welsh and their respective saints. I find it all garbage to condemn it. I’m very proud to be English and I’m not racist against anybody else.

Some fee the need to proclaim how they couldn’t give a toss about it and think of themselves as better than those who wish to celebrate it. You obviously felt the need to reply so must consider yourself to be one of those I talk about. Happy St George’s Day

Not at all, just bored of people making an issue of something that isn’t an issue. Celebrate or don’t no need to justify it or bang on about it.

And some feel the need to let everyone know that they are celebrating and think of themselves as better than those who don't.

70 years ago between 22nd and 25th of April 'The Battle of the Imjin River' was raging in Korea as the 29th Brigade faced the full might of the 63rd Chinese Peoples Army.
My Regiments Officers wore Red Roses in their hats to celebrate St Georges Day, a tradition maintained until our disbandment in 1993.

I am sick of the bickering that goes on on this board. Read JohnMac's post above and ask yourselves how important are your childish squabbles?

They aren't important in the slightest. The have been working all day to find not one thread on the matter. I started one to learn one already had been deleted. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist knowing this board to fill in the gaps. As for John Macs post, a very good post.

Fighting to preserve people's freedoms I presume, this highlights how petty some of the squabbling is on here.
And your post puts everything into perspective, if people wish to celebrate St George's Day then fine, but equally if people don't our have no interest then also fine, why it has to degenerate into childish insults I have no idea.

It still pales into comparison to St. Patrick's Day and the money-making opportunities that brings.
Still, give it time, eh ?
