He’s certainly not going to the Euros. The FAW have already announced that Rob Page will be in charge.

I won't comment on the details of the case for obvious reasons, but in terms of the football it's more than likely Rob Page will be appointed on a long term basis I'd have thought, and TBF he's earned his shot, he's got Wales playing really well, and pulling off some seriously good results, so why not give him the gig on a full time basis.

I saw an interview with Rhodri Giggs a week or so ago on YouTube. After that you’d be under no illusions what type of man Ryan is!

Some serious allegations against Giggs but let's allow the course of justice to play out and a verdict to be pronounced before we cast judgments from afar.

Agreed Rowls but if things go against him, he may well be running down a different wing than the one he's been used to.

Innocent until proven guilty, and suspect he’s not short of women keen to make accusations against him in the hope of a quick buck, but it does appear a pattern is emerging.

Exactly why I'm reluctant to comment on the ongoing case, however if Giggs is found guilty of some or all of these charges, I can't see how he can continue to work in football again, his character will be so severely tarnished that surely nobody will even consider employing him, and if anybody did the backlash would be intense.

Ryan Giggs a fine upstanding member of the community.

Of course.
But, to be charged with controlling and coercive behaviour is very telling.
The specific offence has only been around for 4/5 years, and is very, very difficult to prove. I’ve arrested men and women for this offence during domestics, and I can count on one hand the amount of times there has been a charge.
This isn’t just a man/woman telling their partner they can’t go to the pub on a Friday night. It’s a prolonged, systematic campaign of abuse and manipulation, to control every aspect of their victims life. Money, job, friends, appearance, everything. Over years.
I know how CPS work. They would never charge for controlling and coercive behaviour in court unless it was nailed on. The threshold is high, for domestics in general, but for controlling and coercive behaviour, it’s unbelievably so.
And for CPS to charge in such a high profile case, knowing Giggs can afford the best defence lawyers, makes it even more nailed on.

Agreed.
I much prefer Rob page's team selections. How Sam vokes kept getting left on the bench when in decent enough form for the ineffective Tyler Roberts I have no idea. It cost us important points and a slip down the fifa rankings like not seen since tossack.

If he is found guilty, I’d be very surprised if he goes down. He will throw hundreds of thousands at it and it will pay off.
Having a shed load of money and access to the “best” lawyers will always be a better option than relying on justice.

While I have nothing to say about the upcoming case, nor as to his character; however I remember seeing him in Kendal’s a couple of weeks before making his debut for United... that I remember him tells you something. Any one of us would have been thrown out, but the staff were obviously told to leave him to it... he hadn’t played a first team game and was so wealthy Kendall’s treated him like Elton John.... what chance does he have, when he’s been drooled over and worshipped since he was a kid. I do not like what I’ve seen of him but I can understand someone giving him a right good paggering in Kendall’s might have saved him a lot of grief.

He will have top lawyers, which will increase his chances of an acquittal before a jury.
I've had a look at the sentencing guidelines for coercive and controlling behaviour. Given that the dates of the charge cover over two years, making the case more serious, the starting point is six months imprisonment, up to two and a half years.
IF convicted ( and particularly if he is also convicted of the assault charges ), Giggs will be lucky to avoid prison. Courts do go outside the sentencing guidelines, but not often.

Without a shadow, that’s exactly what will happen, it’s very unlikely that a custodial sentence will be the verdict, in any event he would be well & truly isolated away from the fellow inmates with his own cell furnished with a widescreen smart TV & a PlayStation 4.

I had a neighbour, about 25 years ago, who threw his wife out on to the street without a stitch on

It turned out to be a bit of alcohol fuelled bravado.
