Nuno said Neves was unavailable due to being in isolation - he's in their starting eleven.

Presume this was just a tactic to try and affect our preparations for the game?
Surely the players will need to have relevant paperwork/certificates/evidence of negative tests etc?

4-4-2 again, despite a very encouraging performance with 4-5-1 last week.
I am surprised.

Yes 4-4-2 but stronger defensively with Brownhill on the right side of midfield, instead of JBG

but can anyone explain why?
surely better to give 2 youth players excitement + experience of being part of the 1st team set-up!

You really have to start to wonder what Brownhill has on Dyche to keep getting selected

He played half a game for the u23s just over a week ago and it was said that giving him half a game was planned on his way back from injury. We never get to know about u23/u18 players who are injured.

Why not? What if they are not 100% certain of Pope's shoulder? What if players are back out of bubbles which they still have to work within? I don't see too much problem with it when you've nine sat there other than it seems to give people something else to moan about.

I think one of the reasons our performance was so good at old trafford last week, was Brownhill work breaking up their play in midfield

Morning all from a bright and sunny morning here in Galway .
Getting all set for kick off even had time to get my hair cut this morning , well the wife did as we are still in lockdown but fair play to her she did a good job , i have a feeling our front two will be asked to do a good job too .
Hey no streams today and thanks to the BBC for that .

I’d say that Brownhill has offered more than JBG this season.

Surely we'd be stronger defensively with Brownhill more central in a midfield 5?

Looks like a srtong eleven. Let's just hope they turn up with the same attitude as last week. We do seem to be a bit of a Jeckyl and Hyde team at times.
Surprised, but very happy to see Barny on the bench.
C'mon Burnley. I'm going with Lawro, 2-1 Burnley.

I hope its 433, I can't see the point of playing Brownhill wide. It doesn't suit him, it's been tried and failed before.
I understand its hard to accommodate Jack and Brownhill in the same team, but playing him there, with JBG on the bench is just plain stupid.

Brownhill deserves a starting place after a good performance against Man United albeit on the right hand side of midfield

Good to see Vydra back in the starting XI, and Pope in goal should make us more solid at the back, Barnes is a useful option from the bench if needed, as is Jay Rod, but hopefully that won't be the case, I don't understand all the criticism of Brownhill on here he's been one of our better players in recent weeks, although whether he should be wide right is a different matter, maybe JBG isn't 100% fit and that's why SD has gone with the line-up he has.

I wasn't criticising Brownhill, I like him a lot, it's just that he's wasted as a winger, even more so with a natural winger sat on the bench. We'll find out when we kick off, where they fit in, but on paper it looks a bad call imo.

I prefer him in the middle also, and it's something we'll have to work out because if he goes into the centre then I guess Corky would drop out, I do think long-term Josh will stake a claim for Jack's place, but that's how it should be, and strength in depth is no bad thing.

Well, it's been all huff and puff so far but we keep giving the ball away looking very rushed in possession. Some composure needed.
