Lyndon Dykes ( QPR )
Sounds too posh to be playing for Burnley

Gone are the days when you could buy players like Neville "Baldy" Davitt (Barnstoneworth United)

I saw Lyndon Dykes a few times playing for Queen of the South.

He is nowhere near Premier League standard.

I’d like a fit Brady and a fit JBG!

Would be good - decent forward and never stops running

More likely to find Forest Gump on the new scouting app ;)

I'd like a fit bird, with a full set of teeth

And even at my age that's more likely to happen than your wish list ;)

Could Lyndon Dykes be the new George Boyd?

"I'd be happy if we get numbers in. Not concerned so much about quality".........Jesus christ I'll stop reading the rest, I know let's fill the team with Dale Stephen's, championship here we come.
I think you may have to set your expectations a bit lower. We have a small squad and lack numbers. If we were talking after the 17-18 or 18-19 session then quality is definitely something we needed. That's because we already had numbers and injuries weren't a concern.

But now is now, we have a small squad and no money. It's just unrealistic to expect signings better than Stephens when we still need numbers.

It's injuries that wrecked our season this year, we need better players who can slot in. We should think about improving quality more next season.

Until last summer we did bring in at least one player each season who got into the starting 11

But one is never enough in this tough league and this needs to be rectified, especially with our ageing squad

Tarks may have to be replaced this summer which will be our annual one first teamer but, I fear, the rest will be younger, cheaper models or older free transfers who will be "squad" players

Not all transfers work out and Brighton are an example of a few of them eg Maupay but, by the same token, in 2018 they bought Bissouma (at the age of 21) for around £15m. Now big clubs are showing interest and the fee is expected to be well north of £30m

Going back over the years the only "young" players that we have signed have been Brownhill and Taylor

Yep. I don't like it as much as your next fan but I don't see us able to sign more than one that will slot into the first 11. Working cheaply to get the numbers up will mean more risky, younger signings or older pros.

If we can get players who can slot in to replace next seasons injuried that are just as good then we'll be a lot safer next year. What we don't want to do is not sign enough players, or worse blow our money on 1 or 2 big signings who can get injured just the same as anyone else.

Then next season we can hopefully build on getting better quality in for the long term.

Pope was 24 JBG 25 and Michael Keane was young too wasn't he?

Just read that we are done pursuing Wilson. Sad because he seems pretty good IMO. However, strikes me as a not so Dyche type player. He’s great on a dead ball and an excellent crosser. He’s got 7 goals and 12 assists so far this year for Cardiff tho I might be mistaken. He’s slot right in and is certainly a premier league player. What doesn’t make sense to me is: If Robbie is leaving, we only have one true RM in JBG. Johann happens to be my favorite player but he does get himself a few injuries. Apparently we put down 12m+ add ons for Wilson last summer. I’m sure we could go in for 9-10m this year if we wanted him. Plus our wages will have certainly been freed up. Wilson would cost less than Brady AND be fitter I presume.

Anyway- Would love to see him at the Turf/Barnfield I’d be sad if we didn’t try to pursue a cut deal for him now that his contracts run down more. This is the type of signing that would help us progress I think.

I don't rate Wilson at all so for that reason alone we should probably sign him !

Wasn't it rumoured that Mike Garlick was interested in him but Dyche was against?

If ever there was a player not suited to Dyche, it's this pillock

Looks a good prospect.

Might be wrong but think he had a season under Joey at Fleetwood.
