Shrewsbury are expecting him to be at the match this Saturday. Not sure in what capacity.
After 4 months this can only be good news. Best wishes to him for a full, speedy recovery to full health.

Been a long time. I think it was January when he was first admitted to hospital. Really pleased he feels fit enough to go to a game.

Sounds a promising development if he's up to attending a match, hope he makes a full recovery and continues in his role next season all being well.

I'm sure he was delighted to see Cheltenham promoted with MD at the helm and Wade involved.

Only a short clip but some moving thoughts from our old gaffer. Would be interested to hear the full interview as he seems to really articulate his situation so well and peoples stories like this need to be heard

There’s a long interview with him on the Shrewsbury YouTube channel. It’s tough watching it for me to be honest knowing him so well.

I thought that lead had been posted earlier. It was a pretty emotional watch but surviving severe illness is pretty tough on the psyche and I think he spent time on ITU where not all go home

Saw the write up on the BBC and he said he was worried if he would wake up

This is the full interview he did with Shrewsbury. It's almost an hour and a half though.

All the best Steve.

Worked miracles at Burnley what was it when he took over 7/8 first team players ? Brought in some really good players for free and small fees. I really enjoyed watching us at the start of the 05/06 season really looked like we could do something. We was great in the 4-1 win at Carrow road live on sky.

We started most seasons well until we had to sell our best player in the January (or lost to injury with Andy Gray), then the thin squads took their toll.

I know our football was not pretty throughout his reign, however he had very little to work on. He had a great eye for a player, particularly in the lower leagues and I must say not getting relegated from the Championship was largely down to him. He also had the ability to convince players to join us-something we may have lacked in the past 2-3 seasons, where the player we were about to sign has gone elsewhere
