Great news! That deteriorating Ladbrokes building has been an eyesore for too long.

Great news, I applaud anyone investing in Burnley, especially leading up to the Turf.

How long is it since it was a pub? Besides the bookies it was also Premier Gas until they moved into Parliament Street.
Was only Talking about the building with someone yesterday. An old friend of mine lived in a flat on the first floor for a while. He fell into some difficulties and I saw his death notice in the Burnley Express yesterday.

Love those pictures.
It may have been an absolute dive but it's nice to imagine it was a lovely homely pub full of a lively crowd on a matchday and regulars throughout the week sat around an inviting fire and discussing the Clarets' prospects.

Can only be good for the area. A lot of money spent on pubs round there lately. In a poor town with apparently little going for it. Good luck to them.

I'm really pleased to see a very dilapidated building being renovated and if it's going to be a pub then so much the better and I really hope it prospers, but what would be even better would be to see the council (LCC I'm guessing?) putting in some money to really smarten up the road and pavements etc, on Yorkshire St, a bit like they are doing in Padiham. Once under the culvert the walk to The Turf would look so, so much better and create a way, way better impression if it was made to look a bit like that and it would definitely benefit and reward the private businesses who are chucking their money into that area and trying to make a profit.

They released plans in 2018 to do that, we were talking about it last weekend strangely. Looking at the article they have actually done the area near the canal, Pioneer r is happening, they are tarting up the steps to the market right now - maybe Yorkshire Street is next...
