Ryan Kent - Rangers
Ryan Kent - Rangers
A cut above the rest, in the local derby, today.
A player going places....Burnley, if we could afford him.

Re: Ryan Kent - Rangers
They coughed up about £7 million to get him didn't they?
Liverpool will have sell on clauses, so they're going to want serious money if they sell him on, especially as he's still got 3yrs left on his contract.
Wouldn't be surprised if its going to need £20 million to get him and we can't offer him trophies or European football...

Two years left isnt it? Coupled with potential Champions League football next season, next summer might be a better chance but who knows. Definitely looks a player anywayGodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 12:50 pmThey coughed up about £7 million to get him didn't they?

That's my point, we can't offer him much to get away from Rangers.

Rangers have a handful of players who could add something to a team like us.
Tavernier, Goldson, Barisic, and Kent are the ones who stand out. Steven Davis in midfield is also very good but unfortunately is nearing the end at 36.

Re: Ryan Kent - Rangers
Yeah he signed on a four year deal in 2019. This is his third season there, the last two on a permanent deal.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 1:20 pmI thought he signed a 4yr deal?

So next year when he's had another season in Europe and maybe won some more domestic trophies, he might be more open to leaving (and Rangers more open to cashing in)

Re: Ryan Kent - Rangers
A quick search suggests £20k per week, who knows how accurate that is. But I thought it was pretty common knowledge that we could blow the likes of Rangers out of the water financially.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 1:55 pmI don't know what his wages are there, but European football... The trophies and a little taste of European football may have its appeal, but I don’t see many players turning down Premier League clubs to play in Scotland.
Re: Ryan Kent - Rangers
Or Rhino Neal
Or Clarke Carlisle perhaps!
You never know. A word from Scott Arfield and he could be ours!

Re: Ryan Kent - Rangers
Nobody cares about Scottish trophies, that's why all the players and managers jump ship to England at the first possible chance. As for European football, the qualifying rounds don't really count.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 1:55 pmI don't know what his wages are there, but European football... Trophies...

Re: Ryan Kent - Rangers
Leeds were heavily linked last summer, and if you believe the rumour mill they had a bid of £10m turned down, however all the talk up here is he's going to sign a new contract, so if that's true then both Burnley and Leeds can forget about signing him.Hedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 1:26 pmLeeds have a big interest in him. He is one of the few that probably could make the step up to the PL though, and he would definitely offer us creativity and goals from midfield which we're desperately crying out for.

As per my post in 2019 about Ryan Kent, welcome finally to the party !!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok its scottish football but he's young, direct, commits defenders and proved on sunday in a tense environment he can score big goals and he's fiesty as Browns chin found out !!!!!!! Breeding at liverpool and rangers currently certainly seen alot worse 7M tagets IMO.

Another one potentially missed as the club chose instead to furiously built up those cash reserves...s6t9a2f3f wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 9:32 amAs per my post in 2019 about Ryan Kent, welcome finally to the party !!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Ryan Kent - Rangers
Won’t hurt to test the water a bit. Although I suspect even if we were interested in Kent that he’d be a non starter for us
Re: Ryan Kent - Rangers
Yeah because of his age in 2019 it was a no brainer as you would be "almost guaranteed" to get your money back / or make a tidy profit if you only kept him for 3-4 years and you decided to sell / we got relegated / or a big offer came in - look as safe a risk as you could probably get back 2 years ago.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 9:46 amAnother one potentially missed as the club chose instead to furiously built up those cash reserves...
Re: Ryan Kent - Rangers
Signing him back then, he would be never have gained the edge he has now.
