On the plus side, we won't have to watch/listen a potentially boring game

Souness during the Istanbul derby ran towards the away end waving a home flag and it all kicked off.The Turks dont mess about in riots and the police and army sooner sorted things out
At Old Trafford today where was the security?

One of the reasons the game was called off is that some fans got into the dressing rooms, thus making them non covid-secure.

Although I have sympathy with the United fans' cause, there was no need to invade the ground and for some of the things that happened outside. The supporters of the other Big Six clubs did not cause one of their games to be postponed.

There will have to be sanctions. Many years ago United had to play a couple of home games at neutral venues. The same could happen again.

That would be the same Souness who said this today - "Someone threw a missile and a glass bottle which could of killed us or left us with scars in hospital."

There is a similarity to how the Glazier’s funded the take over of Manure to how ALK funded the take over of us but I think there is a massive difference in the people involved...hopefully
Is there any evidence that there’s difference in the people? Or are we just to go on words?

A positive result for “legacy” fans all over today.... owners need to listen to the fans who are in for the thick and thin, not just plastics attaching themselves to clubs to bask in success they’ve nothing to do with.

This is going to run and run, and at multiple clubs I reckon.

However they have bought the club to make money, not because they love the people of Burnley and the local community.
I spent almost half of my life living in Burnley - there aren't many Burnley people I love, quite a few I admire and a very small number of people I can't stand. The vast majority of people in Burnley are just OK folks who I have never met.

But I still wish the best for my football club and every single person living in the town and district.

This is 30 years too late. Where we are now is the logical conclusion of the process started by the creation of the premier league.

What were they protesting about?

The signing of Pogba? Di Maria? Memphis? Zlatan? Martial? Maguire? Shaw? Fred? Fernandes?

Had the Glazers and Woodward not grown that club commercially they’d be no where near, no where near winning the title. At least their no where near.

Same at all the protesters at the big 6 going out with banners “Man City 18whatever - 2021 RIP”. ******* idiots. ESL destroying the game? Give over, you’re Oldham with a bit of money.

Tough task, marketing one of the biggest names in world football in a market which has grown massively on a global scale over the last decade....

That does make sense and even more reason why heads should roll within the United Security set-up.

Postponing the game does set a dangerous precedent but, maintaining a Covid secure environment does make sense.

Words. Which has been a million times better than the Glazier’s have been. It’s all we have to go off at the minute but there is no reason to think the worst is there. However, I dare say our owners will get to know very quickly and shapely they mismanage our club.

Video on Twitter of Carragher with the copper. Also other photos showing fans throwing barriers at coppers. Id share but apparently SM links are banned on here this weekend despite this being a SM site itself???

Protesting and even finding away to get the game postponed is fair enough but after the brilliant way fans have reacted to the ESL today just looked like a load of footy hooligans which is not what it should be about

Well done to the Utd fans who got the game called off today. Real fans matter, not just the armchair variety.
No they don’t. Just the merest sight of the ‘fans’ at the League Cup Final made me realise that I’ve grown accustomed to near empty stadiums and I think that I prefer it that way.

Very little difference in ALKs and Glaziers strategies as far as the evidence suggests.

Only that the Glaziers are milking a large African elephant over a period of decades. ALK in comparison, will be milking something more akin to a hungry gerbil, but only for as long as we avoid the trapdoor.

I'd imagine we'll be available for a song as soon as the Prem money and big transfer fees dry up.

Those among our fanbase who had it in for Garlick towards the end and who welcomed ALK with the exultant, enthusiastic ardour of a Roman triumphal procession are the exact same people who will, inevitably — once we're eventually relegated — think it acceptable to throw a flare burning at 1600 degrees in the general vicinity of the Sky Sports broadcast team, probably hitting in the face some working class lass from hair and makeup, proclaim her maiming a noble sacrifice in some virtuous aim of purifying football, casting out the rapacious foreign filth, and liberating our game from the scourge of greed and self-interest. F****ng tossers. They're nowt but hooligans. This ain't civil rights, this ain't social justice: they're protesting ownership of a damn sports club. I struggle to get het up about property damage in any protest because property is usually insured, but human eyes can't be so easily replaced. Inflicting violence on people is so utterly disproportionate to the so-called injustices those hooligans are fighting that it's detrimental to a cause which had near-ubiquitous support in this country (something unheard of these days).
