united protest MOTD.
bit rich of the utd fanzine guest to spout about the owners. granted a few have genuinely been unhappy for a while, but where were the protests in previous seasons ? shearer had the job of showing how much they have spent, and it is hundreds of millions. even if there is genuine concern forthe smaller clubs in the leagues, I cant recall any recent attempts to assist them. this all looks like sour grapes as yet again city pip them to the post.

To say United fans haven't been protesting for the last 15 years is comical. It's been there the entire time

Re: united protest MOTD.
Protest outside and the narrative from n the media is "United fans protested outside meanwhile on the pitch.....". The narrative now is across the world, not condoning people throwing bottles and stuff, seen at the the Turf and it's incredibly stupid, but going on to the pitch was the best thing they could have done other than do it during the gameRalphCoatesComb wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 10:51 pmProtest - YES

Sky have shown their true colours today.
Needed the fans demonstrating to stop the super league but when it affects sky live matches the demonstrators are the bad guys.

They've only reappeared because of the ESL, they weren't making much noise when OGS took over and during his time rebuilding the squad and making them competitive again etc.

sorry that's just not my experience, I'm really god friends with 3 season ticket holders and they've never shut up about them, they've just never been organised enough (until now), also the fan channels have been constantly banging the drum.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 11:43 pmThey've been fairly quiet for years though, I think that's the point.

Its almost like he's forgotten about Bruno Fernandes
The glazer out mob have barely made a public squeak for years, everyone outside of Utd had forgotten about them pretty much.

Re: united protest MOTD.
The main point they make is how much money the Glazers take out and how much debt they've put the club in. They make more than enough money to afford the players and transfer fees

The chap from the Fanzine didn't say anything of note and couldn't answer any questions.
I can understand why they don't want the Glazers in, but Man Utd fans on the whole are the largest set of whining entitled turds going. Basically, 1,000's of Alex Ferguson's.

Yes quite.
In the next episode I'll be revealing how Newcastle have "big club" whining fan syndrome, and how Arsenal fans should be burnt at the stake because they serve absolutely no purpose.

Good to see that fan solidarity in fighting billionaire owners taking our clubs and sport away lasted a good two weeks..
Well done to the United fans today, hopefully they keep going and win the day eventually.

I have no problem with peaceful protests but to see some of them breaking into the ground and causing vandalism really doesn't help get their point across.NottsClaret wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 7:20 amGood to see that fan solidarity in fighting billionaire owners taking our clubs and sport away lasted a good two weeks..

Exactly. Its City's dominanace and the fact they haven't won the league for 8 seasons thats main motive for this.Wile E Coyote wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 10:48 pmbit rich of the utd fanzine guest to spout about the owners. granted a few have genuinely been unhappy for a while, but where were the protests in previous seasons ? shearer had the job of showing how much they have spent, and it is hundreds of millions. even if there is genuine concern forthe smaller clubs in the leagues, I cant recall any recent attempts to assist them. this all looks like sour grapes as yet again city pip them to the post.

They’ve been very vocal, demonstrated, and called out ex players who state they love the club but sat at the left hand of the Glazers.
Re: united protest MOTD.
Maybe the Glazers should have been punished for this ESL attempt. Has any 'punishment' been meted out to the sad six yet? What would the fans feel if they were relegated as a punishment? They wouldnt even win the Championship if City were sent down as well.

Re: united protest MOTD.
I watched this on Sky and MOTD2 and see it as an excuse for Manchester’s knuckle draggers to band together for some collective ant social behaviour. Protests against ESL, don’t make me laugh.
After almost 16 years of the Glazers they decide on the day that Man City can win the Premier league to protest. Shearer showed the eye watering amount that the American owners have put in but only one club has invested more, Man City, and that is the real problem. Unless the ‘glory glory’ boys win everything then it’s time to riot, throw bottles and flairs.

Re: united protest MOTD.
Surely this isn't the best way to protest against the Glazers, although it will be embarrassing for them.
They are money men. Hit them in their pockets. Don't buy season tickets, shirts etc.. Don't watch them on Sky, better don't subscribe to Sky and tell them why. Target the shares in some way.

Any credabilty the Glazier out campaign had was totally trashed yesterday by those chavs who invaded the stadium. They were mainly kids off Ordsall and drunken louts
United idiots want Glaziers out because they haven't bought them a Premier league title for a few years, do they realise they're 2nd to City in net transfer spend and have the highest wage bill in English football and that the club makes huge profits every year.
United fans are the most entitled and dispised supporters in English football, known for being one thing only Glory Hunters

Re: united protest MOTD.
Jordan is taking no prisoners on Talksport today.
Every Utd fan who calls in is being asked "What have the Glazers stopped the club from doing?"
He's rightly pointed out that a manager like Fergie is a once in a lifetime and replacing him was always going to be a struggle.
He's rightly pointed out that the club have spent huge amounts of money on transfers and wages in an effort to keep the club competitive.
One has complained they haven't signed the best players in the world but when it's pointed out they signed Maguire who was regarded as the best English defender at the time, the caller labelled him an £80 million flop
Some fans complain about not enough money being spent, until the amounts spent are pointed out.
When some complain about money ruining football, its pointed out to them how much Utd spend on players etc.
The majority don't really seem to understand what they're protesting about and that includes some who were at Old Trafford yesterday.

The more principled man u fans cut all ties with the club in 2005 when the Glazers took over and channelled their time and energy into setting up the alternative FC United of Manchester . Have a few mates who were part of this group and have been to a few FCUM home matches with them. Great atmosphere and a real community feel to the club. Only drawback is that the football played is absolute garbage.

“We want control back” - when have fans ever been in control of a club?
What is it that Utd fans want? Significantly more money to spend than any other club to ensure they win every year!

Re: united protest MOTD.
They were right to protest, just wrong in letting it get out of hand.
I can understand the passions running high, but there is never any excuse for the aggression and violence.
Someone said on the radio the other day that the Glazers have made £1 billion from Utd since buying the club on the cheap. I say on the cheap because when you borrow £500 million to buy a club, it effectively costs you nothing. They didn't create the Man Utd brand, it's history goes back long before the Glazers were in Daddys' ball sack. They haven't done anything to enhance or further the brand, hence the lack of success on the pitch. They just sat back and enjoyed the benefits they inherited.
Of course the real villains are the people who sold the club under those terms. So even though it's easy to say Utd have spent this on players, and that on wages, when the fans see City and Chelsea being funded from their owners large pockets, it must really stick in the craw, when their owners pay off a massive debt whilst taking a billion out of the club.
Foreign ownership has to be controlled somehow. It's a bit late to close the barn doors once the horse has bolted, but future owners must have restrictions put on them, to prevent massive debts, no matter how sustainable they might be, and to control how much can be 'made' in profits, and how much should be put back into the club.
