Baggies v Wolves

Post by tiger76 » Mon May 03, 2021 5:31 pm

What's the best outcome for us in this game, I guess it depends whether you're a glass half empty or a glass half full type of person, personally I think the odds on West Brom catching us are slim to none, so I wouldn't be unduly perturbed should they notch all 3 points here, if that is the case, and we beat West Ham later we will be only 2 points shy of Wolves, and in with a real chance of finishing above them.

Does anyone else agree. or do you all still fear a great escape by BFS, even in the worst case scenario of West Brom winning and us losing the gap will still be 8 points (effectively 9 due to their poor GD) and they'll be only 4 games remaining, so if BFS pulls off this Houdini act he really will be deserving of his reputation.

Wolves to win.

West Brom can still stay up.... it’s a mammoth task, but it COULD happen. I ain’t bothered about catching wolves, I’m bothered about staying well clear of the others at the bottom.

Struggling to get why anyone wants any other result than a baggies defeat. :?

I am relaxed that's why I'd prefer a West Brom win, there's a much better chance of us finishing above Wolves, then either Fulham or West Brom catching us, and who knows that extra couple of places could be the difference in being able to fund a transfer or two, even if it just covers the wage costs it all helps.

You do feel BFS has taken on a poisoned chalice with the West Brom gig, they were so far adrift they'd have needed top 10 form for the 2nd half of the campaign to have any hope of survival, and although he has improved them a fair amount, they've never really looked like closing the gap to the sides above them at any stage.

I'll be :o if he's still their manager next season in the Championship, but in this game you never ever know.

If we win tonight we would only be 2 pts behind Wolves, so an Albion win for me

At last someone who's got faith in our team. I can't speak about Sam, but he's likely to lose his tag of never suffering relegation, although TBH to him I don't see any manager who could have kept them up this season from where they were when he took over, even someone of Sean Dyche's ilk would have struggled to turn them around in such a short period of time.

That’s the type of goal we would concede to Blackburn once upon a time. Especially when we were down there scrapping.

That's the type of goal a team down the bottom will concede, when your luck's out your luck's out, Wolves have been better tonight as you'd expect, they were never going to be as bad as last week, although a lot of that was down to our high tempo display.

A draw keeps Wolves close by and West Brom adrift.

As it stands and if we win, WBA can't catch us. Fulham will have to win their last four to make us need one point - any draw or defeat for them will mean we're safe.

Wolves win for sure. Sooner West Brom are mathematically relegated the better. Don’t care where we finish as long as there are at least 3 below us

It's pretty much unplayable. I think if there was still 20/25 mins left, the ref would be taking them off

Draw's OK. Keeps Wolves within sight, particularly if we win tonight, and its also two vital points dropped for WBA.

They're screwed.

1-1 stalemate that'll do nicely enough for us, West Brom join Fulham on the brink now, while Wolves are still within striking distance.
