Grateful to only lose by 1.
A night where nothing fell for us but we didn’t deserve anything anyway.

One win in the last twelve home games

Fortress Turf Moor doesn't have that same ring about it

Getting as bad as Real Brighton
You do realise most teams in the league have been very poor at home?

This article proves the point:

Weirdly enjoyed the last 10 minutes. Unbelievable to see Pope up for a corner.

We tried but that just isn't enough. We need a midfield with more power and height, we need some pace up front and a right back.

Beaten by a better team on the night, who played with more intensity, pace and power than us. We were overrun in midfield for much of the game by a team who wanted it more than we did.

Top game, shame about the result. Good news for the summer though: Sell Tarks for £50 million, promote BPF to the starting eleven and play Pope at centre half.

Quite a few who were under par tonight. Against a good, technical, skilful and hard working side we will struggle unless everyone is playing well. Too many 5’s and 6’s tonight unfortunately.

West Ham were good, we were poor.

Sentiment aside, there’s a good few we should be looking to move on in the summer, as we’ve been saying for a while now.

Got what we deserved, as poor tonight as wolves was good, don`t honestly think Dyche knew what to do to combat the Hammers forward play, precise passing out of defence by them keeping possession and with their pace we really did struggle. couldn`t muster a decent spell of pressure, pub football at best. If we were saving it for Fulham we should murder them because we saved a lot tonight.

Back to hoof ball. And it dident work.

Good game and beaten by the better side.

Antonio was fantastic, not only going forward but in holding and collecting.

It’s usually West Ham whinging about how they deserved more but tonight they did.

But, seriously, who would take them.

And where are we going to find replacements to improve on that starting 11, which most people would consider our strongest side

Hoof ball was never going to win with Dawson at the back

Disappointed that we didn't see the passing down the channels that was there against Wolves

I must say west ham were a little bit lucky with deflections tonight, every time they cleared the ball it was deflected to one of thier players.

Entertaining game. Shame we couldn't nick a point, we came close and had them rattled.

Squeaky bum time again looking at our fixtures and Fulham's. It would be remarkable if we went down but you can see a route for Fulham with them having us, Soton and Newcastle. I sincerely hope we don't need to get something against Sheffield Utd on the final day or hoping Newcastle save us if not.... what a difference a week makes, even with Fulham losing this weekend!

Best team won, but let's be honest, they've cost a few bob. We bizarrely could have got something out of it, especially Jayrod's chance, but it always felt more likely they'd get a third. We're not making it at all easy for ourselves and imo that's because after our lack of incoming for a number of windows we really are (over a season) the 17th best team in the PL. The way things are right now, most other teams, including West Ham, on 9 out of 10 days will be better than us.

Couldn’t agree more Vino Blanco. Unfortunately, we lack quality in certain areas. We have an ageing squad that needs replacing and upgrading, with at least three other players who need to leave.

I’ve previously had something against West Ham, probably to do with some of their fans insisting stuff like the “West Ham way”. Ironically Moyes has them playing well, and it’s not how their fans would like it, far too industrial at times but it’s working and I respect them for that. I hope they make top 4 too

We have been done in games by star players coming back from injury so they looked fresh and hungry, Ings, Saint Maximin and Antonio, all have pace and great technical ability, our version is Barnes, it shows how poor our squad is.

Certainly an overreaction yes, to put that narrow defeat into some perspective we've just lost to a team who now sit 5th in the table, and who also boost one of the best away records in the division, and although it wouldn't have been deserved if Jay sticks that gilt-edged chance away we could have emerged with a point.

I don't recall any griping last week when we battered Wolves, and in this league you have to learn to take the rough with the smooth, and despite our defeat tonight we're on the verge of being mathematically safe for another year, and ultimately that has to count as a successful campaign in my book.

Our home form is a concern, but it's also a concern for many sides this season, and I've no doubt if and when we get fans back in the grounds you'll see a marked upturn in the amount of home wins for everyone.

The pluses for me tonight are Woody bagging again even if it was form the spot, that's him up to 11 for the season now, and we've scored in our last 8 PL games, which is a marked improvement on the earlier part of the season when we were wondering where our next goal was coming from.

And we won't face teams of West Ham's calibre very often, onwards to Fulham and the game that should seal our place in this league once again.

I really don't believe there was a lack of effort, but what was hopelessly exposed and has been so often this season, is a lack of quality when the opposition are "in the mood". We couldn't match them.

Maybe but what if we play like we did at Wolves, and Fulham are nowhere near West Ham's level, we can definitely get at least a point down there which will be enough.

I can't believe some posters are still talking about the prospect of relegation, it would require an amazingly bizarre set of results for Fulham or West Brom to even get near the other teams involved, and let's get real here it ain't going to happen.

Agreed, BUT in past seasons we've had far more days when it's been "our day" and this season we've had far, far less. Our lack of quality is being exposed 4 games out of 5. As someone else mentioned, smashing Wolves out of sight was brilliant for papering over the cracks, but Wolves were really, really poor last week (as were say Palace when we thumped them and there's been others) Most PL teams are better than us these days 9 times out of 10 and I think we're placed where we are in the league because ultimately, this season, we're just about the 17th best team in the league. (And it's not over yet!)

Tonight was always going to be a tough shift for us, and despite not playing well we dug in and fought all the way to the death, thankfully after that resounding win last week the loss to West Ham shouldn't have any long lasting affects on our survival chances, indeed we've probably already got enough in the bank to be secure now, and I fancy us to get a result at Fulham and finally lay any lingering doubts to rest, our away form hasn't been that bad recently, we've won at Palace, Everton and Wolves, so we certainly shouldn't have any trepidation over a trip to Craven Cottage.

As already mentioned Wolves were poor on the night against us, and they really had little left to play for being safe in mid table. Our need for the 3 points was much greater than theirs and the players showed real intent to get the victory.
Tonight, we came up against a much better team that badly needed to beat us to maintain their push for the top 4 in the PL and they were far too good for us with quality shining through.

I don’t think we will win at Fulham. It won’t matter, we don’t need any more points. It’s next season we need to worry about in my opinion. Without investment, we could be next season’s Sheffield United.

Well played West Ham
They did get the rub of the green here and there though
I wish that they had played that well against Newcastle

They did play well last night, but they also played well at Newcastle bearing in mind they went down to 10 early on, and despite that they still fought back from 2-0 down to almost snatch a point.

The big difference in this West Ham side this year is their number of goal threats, yes Antonio returned last night and bagged a couple, but they also have Bowen, Lingard and Soucek who can net when needed, plus Dawson will always be a threat at set-pieces, and this is one of the main reasons they're pushing so high up the league, and still have a shot of a top 4 finish.

A few weeks ago Antonio played in the West Ham side away to Fulham in the 0-0 draw where he was anonymous. Shame he couldn't have had a similar game last night.
