Ko 6pm at the John Smith's Stadium and it's live on YouTube. Not sure if this is last year's or this year's final?

If it's on youtube I don't think it should require any registration.

Jon Worthington, Huddersfield coach, confirmed in pre match interview this is last year's final.
On a side note, I thought Huddersfield got rid of their academy due to costs? When did it get up and running again?

Huddersfield beat Blackburn on their way to the final, so they will be a useful team.
Re: Burnley FC U17s in Clarets Cup Final tonight
0 - 0 after 15 mins with the home team very much on top but without creating any chances.
Re: Burnley FC U17s in Clarets Cup Final tonight
Up to now this is a mirror of the Youth team game at Wimbledon. Very disappointing in the final 3rd.

Would by nicer if the commentary and match were in sync

0 - 0 at ht. Best I can say is that we're not losing. Defence has done ok but upfront, very poor.

But that's the least of our worries!

We need to get a foot on it and cut out the hoofball.

I wouldn't old your breath, all through the club our teams now play exactly the same way as the 1st team.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 7:01 pmWe need to get a foot on it and cut out the hoofball.

An enjoyable watch and Udders have some excellent young technically gifted lads, but we weren't bad either and definitely had chances there after they scored. Shame the winning penalty was the result of an error and also a shame about the fisticuffs and sendings off right at the end, as it really wasn't necessary.

Re: Burnley FC U17s in Clarets Cup Final tonight
Totally needless penalty, all caused because of the modern football way is to play our from the back. Had the defender just put his foot through the ball, he would have cleared it easy. Mind you he would have been criticised by Clarets fans for playing 'hoof' ball.
Ended up with a dismissal from each side after a melee of about a dozen players. Seemed to be caused by a stamp from a Huddersfield player but all totally needless.
It's not been a good week for our teams on the TV etc. this week!

Re: Burnley FC U17s in Clarets Cup Final tonight
having watched all 3 sides in 2 days i'd have to say that we really do need to up our game in terms of coaching, particularly in terms of individual skill.
We cannot hold on to the football at any of the 3 levels.

The standard of football on show in the two cup games I’ve watched this season at youth level is nowhere good enough for burnley football club just my opinion utc
Re: Burnley FC U17s in Clarets Cup Final tonight
I would certainly agree that the performances both last night and away at Wimbledon were very poor and disappointing but the U18's have had some good results this season beating Newcastle, Leeds (twice), Sunderland (twice), Man Utd and Everton.Longsidelenny1882 wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 11:35 amThe standard of football on show in the two cup games I’ve watched this season at youth level is nowhere good enough for burnley football club just my opinion utc

Both been very poor but other results suggest they are not the norm.Longsidelenny1882 wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 11:35 amThe standard of football on show in the two cup games I’ve watched this season at youth level is nowhere good enough for burnley football club just my opinion utc
Player sent off last night with the club yet again failing to mention it in the report. That’s four or five times this season in academy match reports.

Re: Burnley FC U17s in Clarets Cup Final tonight
Didn’t watch it but the reports on the quality of football are disappointing.
I thought the U23’s were pretty awful vs Leeds. I’d expect at that level to see one or two that you think are getting ready for the first team but nobody stood out and some of the defensive errors/passing was surprising for that level.

Re: Burnley FC U17s in Clarets Cup Final tonight
We've still got a long way to go to have one or two ready for the PL.
