The Lashers..............
I see that Blackpool are doing very well after last nights 2-0 home win that they are up to third in league One, they deserve some luck after the way that the Oystons milked them dry, im all for Lancashire teams doing well in any division, but i am a true Claret it runs in my blood for the past 55yrs and am very proud to come from Lancashire, unfortunately i happen to live with these Southern softies all around me mainly Chelsea, and Arsenal so called fans, enough of that any way, but i do wish Blackpool well in the play offs, they deserve to be back in the Championship and who knows from there, i always enjoyed going to Bloomfield road years ago, anyway i move on.
Last night, (shame on me) I even cheered for both of Man Citys goals, not sure if i will do that tonight with regards to Chelsea, I honestley think that it would seem like a bit of an anti climax with regard to a Chelsea v City in the final, i think it would be like watching a Prem league game, and we all know what they can turn out like, City v Real Madrid looks a lot better, id sooner City win the Champions League than Chelsea if the final was between those two, it will soon be Monday and by 22-00 hrs we will be safe for another Prem League windfall, and a bob or two for our leader Mr Dyche, COYC.

Any complaints we may have about current or previous ownership pale into insignificance next to what Blackpool fans endured under the Oystons

Re: The Lashers..............
I always had a soft spot for Blackpool, until we played them regularly in the lower leagues. They used to raise as much havoc as possible and smash up the facilities in the away section seemingly every visit. Had a huge anti-Burnley thing at the time, which I never quite got as we used to go over there generally in a party atmosphere, enjoying a day at the seaside.
Still nice to see them playing the others in the Championship, but I’d rather it was Accy.

A good outcome on Saturday would see Cheltenham, Bolton and Morecambe up and Tranmere win the play-offs. I feel for Tranmere after being relegated by covid.

Agreed re Bolton as I want Burnley promoted to league 1 in 2031.
Re: The Lashers..............
..and the daft thing is that Garlick probably made more money out of Burnley Football club than Oyston ever did out of Blackpool.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 12:00 pmAny complaints we may have about current or previous ownership pale into insignificance next to what Blackpool fans endured under the Oystons

I moved to Lytham when I was nearly eight, so most of my schoolfriends were Blackpool supporters. To me, Blackpool were the big rivals, much more so than Blackburn.
I still don't like them, and I hope they don't go up.

I assume by your username that you no longer reside in Lytham?lakedistrictclaret wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 9:13 amI moved to Lytham when I was nearly eight, so most of my schoolfriends were Blackpool supporters. To me, Blackpool were the big rivals, much more so than Blackburn.

No, I moved to Lytham from Penrith (although I was born in Burnley), and while Lytham is a pleasant enough place, all my first memories were of Cumberland ( as it was then ) and I always knew where I wanted to end up.
I've been back here ( in the north west corner of the National Park, between Cockermouth and Keswick ) since 1983.

Re: The Lashers..............
I think they must be favourites to go up from the play-offs. Their form since the new year has been good and very consistent. Some usual suspects also there, though, Sunderland and Portsmouth/Charlton so once again some clubs are going to be mightily disappointed with the outcome.lakedistrictclaret wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 9:13 amI moved to Lytham when I was nearly eight, so most of my schoolfriends were Blackpool supporters.
