Are all ST holders being put into a hat and drawn out at random?

Due to Covid restrictions the club cannot put everybody into the same hat as they cannot find a hat big enough.

Very droll Rufus, but i'll be interested in knowing the criteria.

Will it come down to having an app with proof of a negative test, and either one or both jabs?

You had to be on the Colchester game in the 80’s to be considered.

Unfortunately there are about 20k people who claim to have been on.

Whatever they do, whether it be loyalty points, season ticket holders who paid up front and didn't request a refund, or anything else, the Club has less than a fortnight to sort it out.

I don't think there's time to mess around with anything like that, vaccine passports don't even exist yet.

I guess you're right, but didn't a similar number of people attend some outdoor concert in Liverpool recently?

I believe they all had to have proof of a negative test to attend. How long prior to the start of the concert they were tested, I dont know.

That was part of a trial that they'd signed up to. Everything was sorted out for them, they also get tested afterwards to see how the whole thing worked

I'm guessing there just isn't time to organise anything like that, so, as I say, it'll be interesting to see what the criteria is.

If you're not old enough to have been on the Orient game, then you're not old enough for a vaccine and so you won't be allowed in. Simples. Those who can produce a match programme and name all 3 scorers + the referee from the final game of 1987 are the ones in the hat. Only fair imo.

Interested to see what they do with the money side of things as well for them that can attend. I'm assuming that given most of the ST holders have used their credit for next seasons ST they willl charge for this game?

Any ticket for this game will be required to be bought

I was at the Cambridge away game the week before the Colchester home game. Does that count?

I hope this isn't ridiculously convoluted and hard to understand when they reveal the criteria for applying for the tickets etc.

Would also be good to know the stance on getting tickets with another member of your family from a different household. I have had my first vaccine, my Dad has had both of his. It's an open air stadium and from the date in question I sit indoors with him legally at any distance, there is no good reason (as far as I can tell) to not allow two people to sit together in that circumstance.

I appreciate the club is between a rock and a hard place here, whatever they do with this (and I imagine all PL clubs will do the same?) they will annoy somebody. As long as the communication is quickly forthcoming, easy to understand/interpret and logical then I am happy - whether I get to go or not.

I’m not sure any of this is official until the government confirm further relaxation of the restriction can go ahead from 17th and they make that announcement next week. Gives the club time to think!

I presume this will go a ballot / random draw, be interesting on how they deal with children's season tickets as mine are 7 & 11 and both have season tickets, they cant go on without me or my wife
