Not really, as that money for the 20/21 season ticket has now being used for 21/22 so this season technically has zero season ticket sales.

All fans should have a fair shot at any ballot to say otherwise just proves we still have them with the 'im a better fan' attitude.
Again, this has nothing to do with being a better fan. If I was such a better fan then I’d be entering the ballot to attend this game, which I’m not.

Being a season ticket holder entitles you to certain privileges. Priority access to away tickets for example, and priority access to ballots in this case. I don’t know why you expect all fans to have the same chance of getting tickets when there are limited numbers available.

I wish to complain about this post. :D

The resolution to this problem is simple.
Only rich super fans should even be considered for this ballot. Those fans who have had season tickets for years but have been hit hard financially during this pandemic.....well they should just keep quiet and do one.
This match is purely for the privileged......sorry.
No, this match isn’t purely for the privileged. It’s just that priority should be given to season ticket holders.

On the other hand. Here's a thought. Those fans who had a season ticket from say 2008....continuously until Feb 2020. But who have had to cancel....and who can prove they gave claimed universal credit for the last 14 months, how about they are entered into a ballot?

What a gesture that would be...mand let them in for nowt.
Lovely socialist idea, but not very practical unfortunately.

Newcastle United have announced their ballot system for their home game against Sheffield United.

It's quite simple. Anyone who held a season ticket at the end of 2019/20, and have a credit balance on their account, have 48 hours from 10am tomorrow to register for the ballot.

Winners will be notified on Tuesday. The price of their ticket will be one nineteenth of the price of their 2019/20 season ticket.

I am not rich and I do not consider myself to be a 'super fan'. However, as a person in receipt of state and personal pensions my income did not change due to the pandemic (in fact, my expenses dropped due to the restrictions) so I was able to continue my dd payments. I feel sad for those who found their financial position to be under pressure and happy they were able to obtain a refund of their prior payments. That being said they cannot expect to have had their cake back and not get to eat it.

Having had both my vaccine doses I will happily take my place at Turf Moor for this Liverpool game with every confidence I shall not get anything more than a mild infection, if any, and that I will not need to be hospitalised or even die. I stand a much higher chance of being hospitalised or dying during my trip up and down the M6 to the game.

That being said a stipulation to having had vaccines surely cannot be made.

Data in India is showing that AZ (the only one they have tried) still works against both Indian variants.
My comment about having had 2 doses was in reference my personally feeling more secure.

All that's fine but if the website/IT at the club doesn't work consistently, then no matter what fans try to do they'll have problems! Maybe in December there were fewer fans trying to link accounts and the system could cope but when large numbers are attempting to use it it only works intermittently under the pressure?

I get that, but 6 months ago would have been a better time to sort it, not a week before you want to use it because you might want a ticket - then complaining to the people at the club taking the flak for system problems (ticket office)

Also, phase two ST sales on sale from Monday. No price increase either.

The club have said: "Contrary to some reports, there will be no increases in price, with tickets offered at the same early bird price available in the first phase of renewals."

Contrary to some reports? It was the club themselves, on more than once occasion, who told us to expect a price increase and I remain convinced there would have been one without the work done by Leisure on behalf of Burnley FC Supporters Groups.

Yes it does but people will need to know if they have to pay up front for the total cost or if there are instalment payment options. As some won't be in a position to pay upfront, so won't want to pay a £10 deposit if they're not going to renew (although it is refundable).

Yes fair enough. Guess they are just being conservative with the inability to fully know what they can do. But yeah people may want to know what they’ll be able to do, though with it not being until late summer it will be quite condensed if allowed. Think the deposit is refundable?

Yes, phase 2 is for people to renew who had a season ticket in 2019-20, but didn't pay in full before season ticket sales stopped. You need to renew in the week commencing 17th May if you want to keep the same seat.

More than likely all the Accie and Rossendale clarets will have seats, they always do at away games and some of them I know don't even have season tickets.

It should go off how many points you have, as you have to when applying for away tickets. Of course wouldn't apply to the supporters groups who have a free hand

You'd like to think by August we'll be allowed full stadiums, as long as nothing goes drastically wrong this summer. But I suppose the deposit makes sense until they know for sure.
