George Michaels version of somebody to love with Queen is better than Freddie Mercury's in my humble opinion and has a big Freddie Mercury fan thats a tough one to say

Diamonds and Rust by Joan Baez covered by Judas Priest. Love to know how Rob Halford pitched the idea to the rest of the band.

Use to see this fella regularly in Cork. Just love his voice.
Niall McCabe covering Change Is Gonna Come. You can’t really better Sam Cooke but it’s worth the listen.

I know a lot will disagree but I prefer Aurora's version of Ordinary World to Duran Duran's.

Marvin Gaye - I Heard it Through the Grapevine. Orignal was Gladys Knight andf the Pips.

Anything recorded by anyone else covered by the Queen of Soul, Respect, I Never Loved a Man , spring to mind but Aretha's version of Bridge Over Troubled Water takes you on a journey through blues soul, gospel and church music. This is a very raw live version when we she was at her absolute peak. The picture quality and sound aren't great but her amazing voice transcends all that, Billy Preston is on the organ.

An almost copy cat cover of While My Guitar Gently Weeps up until Prince, previously lurking on the perimeter of the stag, ramps it up with a candidate for best geetar solo of all time, also what happens to his axe at the end as it magically disappears into thin air?

Good track but Bruce wrote it with Patti Smith. She released it first but iffy to call it a cover.

Ryan Adams - Wonderwall
Johnny Cash - Hurt (amazing how this song has a while
Different vibe than being about a drug addiction when Cash does it)

David gray does an excellent version of soft cells “say hello, wave goodbye” on his white ladder album.
The clash’s cover of I fought the law is awesome.
Cash’s Hurt is superb as is disturbed’s version of silence.
The lemonheads did a great version of “mrs Robinson”
The men they couldn’t hang made a great job of the green fields of France.
The Specials cover of “a message to you, Rudy” is most excellent.
Elvis’ cover of “that’s all right” was responsible for everything that followed. Absolutely everything. Don’t believe me? Believe John Lennon. “Before Elvis, there was nothing”.
