Lancashire live suggesting : it is claimed that Swansea hope to stump up a figure of around £500,000 (for Jimmy Dunne) although it's understood Burnley would want a low seven-figure sum for the defender.
500k works out at about 100k a year for a player who was out on loan for more than two full seasons. Whatever the fee is I would hope there would be a decent sell on clause but that sounds like a lot more than we get for most of our youngster.

could just be nonsense paper talk but I think it's fair to say none of us were overly impressed with either BPF or Norris in what in essence were behind closed doors glorified friendlies. Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I think Armstrong from Rovers would be a nice upgrade on either Barnes or Jay Rod if we can sell one on, he might not make top drawer but at 24 has just a good a chance as others we might be able to afford. He only has 12 months left so think Rovers have little chance but to cash in now, the bad news is Southampton apparently has had a opening bid turned down.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
on second thoughts Newcastle have a 40% sell on clause on him so with 29 goals last season Rovers might keep him next season and let him walk away for free ?? dunno ?

Rovers are hawking this lad round the papers for all they're worth...desperately trying to create an auction, but there's seemingly not much genuine interest in him.
28 goals or not, I wouldn't see him as any kind of upgrade on what we've got..no doubt others would disagree.

I agree Rovers are trying to create an auction that doesn’t seem to be happening at the moment.
He seems nippy and a good finisher so I think he’d add something different to our squad. Not sure if his lack of physicality would deter us though.

Just read that Villa are going to make a bid for Dwight if their 32m bid for Smith Rowe is rejected by Arsenal. Good luck with that one. I thought we were asking for about 50m?

Just read that we are apparently in for Mbaye Diangne who was on loan at WBA last season. I don’t rate him all that much. What do you all think?
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Where have you heard that, I actually think he would suit our style, hard worker, big and strong in the box.WiscoClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 1:14 pmJust read that we are apparently in for Mbaye Diangne who was on loan at WBA last season. I don’t rate him all that much. What do you all think?
Think he would come on again once Dyched.
Also not an overall bad goal scoring record although in poorer leagues.
Looked ok for a struggling and poor WBA side, maybe that 6 months will have helped him out, and settled him a bit.
A yes from me!
Certainly an upgrade on Barnes, who IMO should be 4th choice now, and the 1st we look at upgrading.

Not seen him linked with us, although I have seen him linked with Brentford and Watford, at 29 he isn’t exactly the next in the conveyor belt so to speak, but is a better player than Barnes

He didn’t look bad...you’re right. MAYBE if he was settled, and Dyche thought he was worth it to bring in, and he was Dyche fit he’d be in. I trust Sean and his team. If they think he’s a fit... grab him.MACCA wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 1:16 pmWhere have you heard that, I actually think he would suit our style, hard worker, big and strong in the box.

Barnes is 4th choice for me as well. Would love to see Jay playing more often but in reality he’s 3rd. Has to be Wood and Vyds for me starting.

Would possibly play better as a contracted player than as a short term loanee.
I thought he was fine. Not pulling up trees but definitely PL standard.

Mbaye Diagne is an interesting one. Scored 14 goals last season, 11 in 18 games for Galatasary, 3 of them in 16 games (2 as sub) for WBA. In 2018/19 he was the top scorer in the Turkish league with 30 goals from 37 appearances. The suggestion that he's available for 3 to 4 million euros makes him a cheap option.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
He's a big unit but holds the ball up well and links well. Not a bad option if he's so cheap.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion

Daily Mail reporting we’re close to signing Wayne Hennessy (he of the most imaginative excuse award!) on a freebie.
Would be pleased with this one, experience backup and allows us to loan out one of Norris/BPF for some game time.

Sports Witness quote the Turkish media as saying
negotiations are being carried out so that both the attacker’s salary and his club’s demand of €3-4m fee are met.
According to the report, ‘significant progress’ has been made in negotiations with Watford and Burnley, suggesting Sean Dyche’s and Xisco’s could have an advantage over Scott Parker.
