most of the usual websites say he's on 56k per week (pinch of salt I guess). You would think that would be achievable if it is correct. Surprised it's a loan and not a purchase tbh. Thanks for the info.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 10:43 pmNixon linking him with us on loan but it’s a big loan fee and big salary

Just had a weird feeling we’ll land Cornet, Maitland Niles AND Lookman next week. Nope, not started drinking yet

Harrison Reed at Fulham is a decent shout imo
Combatitive cm ball winner with good distribution skills and not too costly

Lookman would be a top signing but seen as though Palace are in that rules us out.

Id dismiss the Lookman link. With Palace looking as well.
When have we last beaten a rival in a transfer tussle.
We just dont do that.

Don’t think Arsenal are genuinely interested for a second, but you’d think this is the type of signing the new owners would be looking to push to help boost our profile across the pond.

If Lookman goes to Palace he could add a third London club relegation to his CV

We should Sign Lookman, we would get the money back selling shirts with his full name on the back at 50p a letter

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
The Lookman deal is another fake news, the loan fee is 3.5 million and then 50k a week wages, we wouldn't pay 3.5 million if that was the buying fee never mind the loan fee

Never heard of him, so I checked out his stats, he netted 6 in 25 in the Portuguese league last season, and 14 in 39 in total.minnieclaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 8:17 amSeeing as we play them first up I’ll post this.

Hardly prolific stats are they, and not someone that I'd be happy with us throwing £35m at that's for sure.
Maybe he'll be a hit in the PL, but given his less than stellar record in a relatively poor league, certainly in comparison to England I'll be surprised.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
He was sold by Everton for £22.5 million. Move on.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
We are looking in the expensive shops with little or no money.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
We cant afford established premier league players.
We need to find younger up coming talent.affordable.
Bring them slowly into first team.

I don’t think we’ll sign Lookman and it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I'd say a RB is a position we need for sure. Bardsley is 55 years old and Lowton is 31/2. Maybe not an immediate priority but we'll need a right back in the next 12-18 months preferably earlier
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Collins is also an option a right back.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Never usually read much into player transfer betting odds but for what it’s worth Maitland Niles dropped to 2/1 from 6/1 to join us overnight…

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
RW is essential in this window I agree, CM would be nice, but we could possibly just about manage with what we currently have, however we'd need to be fortunate with injuries, RB isn't an area we need to recruit in as urgently, but next summer we may need to look at recruiting in that position.
The problem is our lack of buying 1st teamers for several windows now means that we face plugging several holes at the same time, and that carries it's own risks in itself.
We can hopefully just get by for another season, but next summer we'll have no choice but to recruit in several positions.
However ideally we'll be doing this major squad overhaul well still being a PL team when it happens.

If the club is struggling at the moment to bring in 1 or 2 quality additions that we need in key positions this window the notion, that if that fails, then we will "get by for another season" and bring in 5 or 6 next summer is just the stuff of pure fantasy.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 10:50 amRW is essential in this window I agree, CM would be nice, but we could possibly just about manage with what we currently have, however we'd need to be fortunate with injuries, RB isn't an area we need to recruit in as urgently, but next summer we may need to look at recruiting in that position.

Many posters on here, myself included, have pointed out the problems being stored up by just kicking the can down the road and looking towards the next window when things might be different.
Hopefully, the club will manage to bring in 1 or 2 before the window closes to ease the pressure somewhat on future windows.

Nixon says we're looking at Lookman AND Cornet
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Chelsea trying to get shut of Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Not that I'd want to sign him, but another example of a player who seemed to be regarded higher than his actual ability, simply because he played for a big club.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I have a feeling we might get Cornet

I think he’s crap, always on the periphery of what’s going on in games and never seeming to influence anything.
