Stoke have rich owners, so its not a major panic.
They'll still look to gain maximum value for players

I doubt they've become that rich by consistently funding loss-making companies.

We are linked with a player multiple times across various outlets over long periods and people struggle to believe there is anything in it.
Another club get tentatively linked and it’s instantly considered as good as a done deal.
It’s one of the quirks of this messageboard.

Wijnaldum has just binned off Barca, PSG offered double the wages Barca did so off he goes.
Barca agreed contract 2 weeks ago and medical was planned in the next week or so at the Dutch training camp.
That's gonna annoy Barca even more after PSG took Neymar.

I see Leicester aren't messing about this window.
If they've seriously got a decent bid in for Tarks, they won't hang about for long whilst we ponder it.

The point is they're not going around throwing large transfer fees at clubs to get players in the current financial situation, they're making astute signings for s relatively low cost.Conroysleftfoot wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 10:13 amWhy is it credit to PSG. Just saw an article out of Cardiff suggesting we are very much still in the race for Wilson and that Liverpool’s valuation, since another year is out of his contract and covid, is at ours.
Personally would love to see us go for Nat Phillips and Wilson in a cut deal. A little more business, a little discount.

So they're saying Liverpool might now accept the 15m we offered for Wilson last summer. If it was Sean Dyche and not Garlick who was after him then that might have legs.
I've seen Nat Phillips linked for 10m but he's said that he'd leave for first team football. I'd not expect him to come unless Tarky leaves.
With 8m coming in from the sale of Gibson we'd need to sell Tarky for 22m to get those two in without needing to find any additional cash.
Bring in Josh King on a free and ALK have "backed the manager" without having to dig deep.

Now there's an idea. Move Dwight into the middle and we'd have no wingers left, may as well play 5-3-2 with Lowton and Taylor converted to wingbacks.

Burnley make £12million transfer bid for Stoke defender Nathan Collins as Clarets look to pip Man Utd & Arsenal to deal
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football ... -transfer/
BURNLEY are making a stunning new £12 million bid for Stoke City centre-back Nathan Collins.
The Clarets hope to clinch a deal for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 star who has been top of their wanted list since the January window.
The latest offer is set to be accepted by the Potters who have been waiting for bigger clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea to come in with larger offers.
Collins, 20 missed a chunk of the second half of the campaign with injury but Burnley are convinced he is ready to go into Sean Dyche’s side.
The powerful defender can play centre-half or right back and could be needed if James Tarkowski is sold this summer.
Yet for the past year the 6ft 4ins starlet has also been tracked by Premier League 'Big Six' clubs.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's United first eyed Collins two seasons ago after he made his first-team debut aged only 17.
And German club Werder Bremen reportedly asked Stoke about Collins two summers ago.
In the end, though, Collins signed a new deal with the Potters until 2024.
At one stage Chelsea were rated as in pole position to land him.
But this term United, Arsenal and Burnley have been most commonly linked with him.
So far Collins has failed to earn a senior Ireland cap but that breakthrough seems sure to come next term

I do recall seeing him play for Poland. I was surprised he went to Derby at the time. He's no chalk on your boots winger but I can see why, if we're interested in him; we'd want him in a position we need and probably relatively cheap.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Nico Williams has the ability to play in several different positions, so would probably get moved about depending on who was injured at the time.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 05, 2021 4:26 pmI like the sound of that info, and we do need to try and utilise the loan market much better than we have previously, however we already have Bards & Lowton for that position, so unless we're looking to offload either of those, which I find highly unlikely, I don't see how this lad will be guaranteed enough minutes for Klopp to agree to a loan move.
I expect him to start all 3 games at the euros so you can have a look for yourself then. Him and rodon look street's ahead of the others in this year's intake of Wales youngsters.

I always think a really good barometer is what the fans think and there doesn't seem to be one Stoke fan who wants to see him leave and many of them think he's worth daft money. Not one "I'll drive him there myself" comment or "He's no better than xxxxxx".

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I don't believe there's anything in the Jozwiak link - it's based on an article that says he would be a good signing for Burnley, nothing to indicate we have any interest in him.
