Whilst I agree he has a lot of knowledge on possible player sales would he have the same insight when it comes to how the manager is feeling?

Depends if he has Dyche's agent on his contact list?
If the agent wants it putting out there in public that Dyche wants money, it could put the owners under pressure to back him.

He wasn't wrong with Wilson and Worrall though was he? We were in for both, he never said the deals were done.NewClaret wrote: ↑Mon Jul 26, 2021 9:44 pmFor every one he gets right he gets several wrong. Throw enough mud, some will stick. Wilson and Worrall last summer as examples. Linked us to Osayi Samuel, rubbish. I’m not buying these Albrighton/Cornet rumours either.
I don’t think he has any links with us at all because he’s been proven time and time again to sprout BS.
If he has links they feed him a lot of duff information. All his tweets are a few words of ambiguous rubbish that anyone could dream up and mainly opinion like “finding two wide men is proving difficult” and “if you don’t sign one the manager will be growling”. Talk about obvious statements anyone could make.

Some people on here have a negative thing about Nixon.
Cos they want to be the first to break the news about incoming players.
Time and time again Nixon has been right.

Leeds, Brighton and Burnley interested in James, but his wages may rule us out apparently....he's on £45k a week at Utd from what I've seen so he's either after silly money or the person who wrote tweet doesn't know what he's on.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
My expectation is that we'll begin the season with a relatively unchanged starting eleven; I also believe that we have 'some' money, but not a bucketful and that said money will be used to bring in additional players nearer the end of the window.
My feeling is that many (all?) players - particularly those from the Championship/D1 - currently being touted are overpriced, so 'some' money isn't enough to buy them this month, but most of those players being touted aren't available because the selling clubs want to sell them, but because they have to sell them, they're skint after covid and need to reduce their debts; in a perfect world they'd sell their price asset/star player for a bucketful of money in July, but if they've not done a deal by mid-August, they'll then have to settle for the some money that the likes of Burnley have.
Even then of course, there remains the problem of Burnely being one of the less attractive clubs in the EPL for a player to ply his trade. I perceive that the club is still seen as being less 'fashionable' to the players and whilst it appears that the 'lower salaries' issue has been addressed, as I understand it we do still have a harsher 'salary-reduction if we're relegated' condition included in our contract offers than most (all?) other EPL clubs? If things start of/go badly, then any 3 of eight or ten clubs - including Burnley - are potential relegation candidates, so for a player it's always going to be preferable to sign to a club where their own financial risk of relegation is the lowest.
We'll get some more players before the transfer window closes, but I anticipate they'll come in at the last minute and may not all be our first choice for the position.

Some fair points here. There are added attractions though of getting more PL game time than at a perceived bigger club. We also provide an opportunity to showcase talents, rebuild careers and have a good record on player development and helping people get England caps. We also have a stable management team compared to other PL clubs where a player could easily fall out of favour with a different manager. We also have great training facilities.Think we are more attractive than some think.AfloatinClaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 9:36 amMy expectation is that we'll begin the season with a relatively unchanged starting eleven; I also believe that we have 'some' money, but not a bucketful and that said money will be used to bring in additional players nearer the end of the window.

Brexit has resulted in a change in criteria for signing foreign, cheaper players from Europe.
For example, Mahrez to Leicester wouldn't happen now.
Defour would I think.
Kante to Leicester wouldn't happen either.
Grosicki to Hull would I think.
It's all well and good whinging about the manager but at least take the time to understand what's going on in the world, just for once.

Any transfer rumour stating 3 clubs are interested is usually an agent trying to drum up interest for his client or better offer for a club.
On these grounds I'm out.

If we genuinely get any encouragement to sign Dan James then it’s an absolute no brainier. Couple of good seasons out of him would see us sell him on for 2/3 times whatever we could get him for , add to that a completely different dimension going forward

Things I’ve learned:
No.57 - Footballers who featured in at least half of the league games for a top 6 club the previous season, will not sign for Burnley.

He's a decade to young and way to raw and fast for our set up just yet.
They'll be a thirty odd year old work horse somewhere, we currently want on for free or on the cheap, but if not we will spend a few quid to get one.

Never said that, but James started almost half of United’s games last season and I’m struggling to think of any player we’ve signed that have been recently prominent at a club of that stature.
It’s just not a step most footballers would be willing to take.

When Collins signed Pace was the first to tweet that it was down to the ‘new technical transfer structure in place’ at the club or something along those lines. He’ll look a bit daft if that turns out to be the only business we do.

Have we signed anyone else yet?
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
all these concerns, rumours, etc etc just confirms one thing :
Well done Burnley Football Club for punching well beyond their weight yet again.
WE KNOW quality players dont come cheap
WE KNOW there's very little chances of a Andre Gray, Austin, Ings at their transfer fee back then
WE KNOW we are bottom feeders in players/agents choices
WE KNOW the manager and the lads will give it everything
WE KNOW at periods/several periods this season fans on here WILL call for SD head
WE KNOW the new board is probably a upgrade on forward digital thinking and matters off the field but probably only a slight / if any for wealth and money investment.
So concentrate on telling us things we dont know and move forward together.

He said after the Collins signing that - “We believe he will be an excellent addition and we see this as an ideal start to our summer’s business”
So I think that Pace will make sure that a few more join before the window shuts for sure. Hopefully in the next week to get them up to speed but that’s asking a lot

Or.
Medicals take an age these days. If it was a prospective signing it'd make sense to drop his car off at Barnfield, travel with the necessary staff to Manchester (I believe we still do our medicals there don't we?) and get it done on the quiet. Then come back for the photo shoot, media stuff etc.
I've seen players reported on Sky Sports turning up for medicals at 7am.
I know I wouldn't be leaving my £90,000+ car parked in Manchester.
