FAO Mr Garlick
You have been seriously let off the hook there with the chronic lack of investment over several transfer windows. It is a real shame that the good work that was done will be overshadowed by this. Congratulations to Sean Dyche and the team. Over to you Mr Pace, please don’t let Sean down. Up the Clarets.

FAO mr garlick. Thanks for your efforts in the early Dyche years. And backing him to win the title at a canter and have consistent premier league finishes. Two in the top ten. And securing and signing some of the best players we have seen in 50 years.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 10:44 pmYou have been seriously let off the hook there with the chronic lack of investment over several transfer windows. Not nonsensical at all. The board initially did some good work, but could and should have done more to back Dyche. This achievement has been in spite of the old board. It’s a shame that I feel such a way to a BFC chairman but the last few windows for me left a bitter taste.

I'm proud of the financial strategy adopted under the previous owners. Financial prudence, investment in our infrastructure and not spending beyond our means meaning debt free.

You’ve got to be seriously lacking in something to call out the person who has run the football club during the most successful period a lot of us have ever seen. Even more so using an occasion where we should be celebrating another successful season.

Re: FAO Mr Garlick
After the final whistle I felt an enormous relief, once that settled I was reflecting and felt that this situation could have been avoided without kicking the can down the road over the last few years. Let’s face it to stay up this season has been miraculous, but it should have never got to this to leave our greatest manager in the last 50 years threadbare with the squad. That unfortunately for me overshadows, the early good work done by Garlick because it just felt so unnecessary.claretcarrot93 wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 10:57 pmWeird mentality after another good year to have a go at somebody who put a lot of time and effort into club

Re: FAO Mr Garlick
The difference was that there was the gap between costs and and revenues in the early years - That gap was removed as wages his increased and just as significantly the board sought to meet all the other demands of the manager in terms of the backroom set-up and facilities - we have probably matched the spend at Gawthorpe with the one at the the Turf on facilities for players, then there are the additional staff (60 on the football side in the season before last. Recently Dyche has been saying that there is still not enough to support the players he wants an awful lot more, that is before any new signings - you need to look at the big picture of what they were managing and i am still of the belief that the only reason the sale happened is because they wanted to keep Dyche at the club and that meant they had to relinquish fiscal control.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 10:52 pmNot nonsensical at all. The problem GFF has is not appreciating that for all the vitriol direct at MG we are still in the PL. Proving his point that no major signings were necessary.
Thank you MG for bringing SD to the club, for sticking with him after we were relegated and for all your time as Chairman of the club you love.

You mean where he said that the lack of financing due to process of the club being sold was frustrating? He’s hit the nail on the head. It was frustrating but there was a reason for it. Why some fail to grasp this is the real head scratcher.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 11:28 pmfor all those having a pop at the OP, go and have a listen to Dyche's post match interview............

He was brought to the club by Garlick was he? What about the parts played by the joint chairman, by the CEO and other directors (although I am aware that one of them didn't want Dyche). Including the manager and his claims to understand the financial approach and situation - this from a manager who freely claimed tonight that he tought the injury situation would improve over the season, when the fixture list and all previous evidence of such lengthy congestion said otherwise.

It has been reported that Garlick was in charge of the interviews as it ties in with his business skills. If that’s not true I’ll withdraw it.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 11:43 pmHe was brought to the club by Garlick was he? Re: FAO Mr Garlick
Has it really been reported as that? I've never seen that and I don't believe he was in charge of any interviews. I think he's a businessman way ahead of being a supporter of the club. Once established in the Premier League and knowing the money he could get for his shares, he was quick off the mark trying to sell it.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 11:45 pmIt has been reported that Garlick was in charge of the interviews as it ties in with his business skills. I found Dyche’s constant airing of his dirty laundry in public very counter productive at the time, and the results at that stage of the season back that up. I think he probably understood the reality of the situation but clearly his relationship with Garlick was beyond repair and he made sure that everyone knew.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 11:43 pmIncluding the manager and his claims to understand the financial approach and situation - this from a manager who freely claimed tonight that he tought the injury situation would improve over the season, when the fixture list and all previous evidence of such lengthy congestion said otherwise.

It was awful all through the summer and at the start of the season - though I was commentating on tonight's post match interview, which was definitely a warning shot across the bows to the new owners. It is a diabolical, inciteful approach to a club that has given him and continues to give him so much. I appreciate his talents with the team but I will never believe he has the interests of the club at heart anymore - this is a very different form of human being to the one that arrived at the club or that got promoted a second time.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 11:47 pmI found Dyche’s constant airing of his dirty laundry in public very counter productive at the time, and the results at that stage of the season back that up. My question is why when we were supposedly 80 million in the black we are now 90 million in the red.
We were always a well run club I cannot grasp the new financial situation.
