Another statto question
Heard on the Fulham comms that it was our first top flight win at Fulham since the 70s. Following our recent wins at OT, Anfield and Emirates, following long droughts, has anybody a link to our last away wins at all the current PL clubs. I know we have had wins over Norwich and Watford of the promoted sides.
Newcastle must be near the top as I can’t recall a win there.

Fulham have room to talk, they haven't won at Turf Moor in 31 attempts since April 1951 ....

We can put Sheff U right next week. Then City, Newcastle and Spurs need working on. SD has had a remarkable ability to re-write history for us.

Went to the Newcastle game in 1976, won 0-1. Few days later last by the same scoreline at home to Man Utd. which saw us relegated for the first time since I started watching us in 58/59 season.

Re: Another statto question
Just two days later when United beat us to relegate us but it was our second relegation. I know we’d like to forget 1970/71 but history doesn’t allow us to.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 3:11 pmWent to the Newcastle game in 1976, won 0-1. Re: Another statto question
Was just looking at our points comparison for home and away games. This was to try and assess how home advantage has all but disappeared during the lock down. Here are our splits for the last 5 seasons
16/17 h 33 a 7 Pts % split 82.5/17.5
17/18 h 26 a 28 Pts % split 48.15/51.85
18/19 h 24 a 17 Pts % split 58.5/41.5
19/20 h 28 a 26 Pts.% split 51.9/48.1
20/21 h 18 a 21 Pts % split 46.2/53.8 (35 games)
Total over 5 seasons
H 129 A 99 % split 56.6/43.4
So in summary this season is our lowest Home points % And obviously our highest away %. Not sure if that proves anything but I think most teams home record this season is worse than normal or maybe it is just the away results are better I had forgotten how few points we got away in 16/17 but what a turnaround in 17/18. Overall I think to get 43% of our points away from home is pretty solid

I like how 17/18 and 19/20 are exact mirrors of each other yet the percentages are different.

Re: Another statto question
There are 10 teams who have lost more games at home this season than they did last season and this does not include any of the 3 promoted teams.

Re: Another statto question
In Dyche's tenure here we seem to have bucked the trend against quite a few teams.
Is anyone able to list them?

Are you only counting league games Tony? We won at White Hart lane in 83.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 11:22 amArsenal 2020/21

Sorry, just re-read the OP and it does indeed mention top flight wins.

I can't believe it's that long since we won at Leicester. Didn't we win on our first three visits to the Walkers/King Power?

November 2007 we won 1-0 with Andy Gray scoring the goal.

Sheff Utd in 08/09 would have been in the Championship, when was our last top flight win there?

Re: Another statto question
The list I provided further up the thread included three away wins below the top flight, at Leeds, Leicester and Sheffield United. I've now added to those in brackets with the last top flight wins which were Leeds (1973/74), Leicester (1968/69) and Sheffield United (1973/74).claretburns wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 9:11 pmSheff Utd in 08/09 would have been in the Championship, when was our last top flight win there?

We need to win at Sheff U as it could be a long time before we play them in top flight again
