But Palace simply can't spend that much each season, otherwise they would have done so, without letting so many players get to the end of their contracts.
Isn't the Palace owner desperate to sell? thats why they have about 10+ players out of contract in the summer, Palace for the drop next year regardless of who's in charge if so.

30-50M a season is nowhere near enough to consistently challenge for Europe. Palace's current team isn't good, it would need considerable spending to catch up to Leicester.
If Dyche can get into Europe with Burnley’s resources he is a hell of lot more likely to be able to do that with Palaces resources.

There first team is on par if not better than ours.

Palace arnt a bigger club per say but they can attract/afford better players.

The point I am making is he is a hell of lot more likely to reach Europe more often with Palaces resources than ours.

Imagine what Dyche could do with 30-50m a season and a higher wage bracket. He would be. challenging top 6-7 with that quality of player on a fairly regular basis.
What gives you the idea that Palace will be spending £30m-50m per season? Over the last 5 seasons their net spend is £11.2m per season compared to our £10.5m.

Why is the palace side better? We have better keeper, defenders and attackers the only thing they have better is the wingers.

The time we reached European qualification was a one off though, we were good that season but that was the lowest number of points to finish 7th in the last 10+ years (I cba to look further).

If they can afford better players, why haven't they bought better players over the last 5 years?

They aren't the same defensive managers though.

Dyche has NEVER lost the dressing room here and the only players he's had an issue with that we know of are Ings and Gibson.
That's it.

Vydra - Dyche worked with Vydra to improve his overall game and its paying off.
Vydra listened, understood, worked hard and has been rewarded with an extended run in the team that is paying dividends for both him and the team.

Dyche's man management skills means he'd probably do well with bigger players.
Can add Bamford to that list and maybe a couple more we don't know about but nobody can be an effective manager and never fall out with anybody. He wouldn't be doing his job otherwise.

I suspect after what Bamford said that Dyche tried to deliberately goad him into a better reaction but it had the opposite effect.

You can't win them all, but Dyche wins a lot, LOT more often than others.

I said on par or better.

I think that’s a fair comment. I think Dyche gets an extra 20% out of our players, I think if Dyche had there squad he would finish in a higher position.

If I was comparing squads I would say the strongest eleven would have 5 Burnley players and 6 palace. But it is very close.

Pope
Lowton, Tarks, Cahill, Van Anholt
Milejovic, Kouyate
Zaha, Eze, McNeil
Wood

With all those better players its a bit disappointing that Dyche hasn't got us more points than Palace.

They've been overpaying in wages and fees for bang average players for years, that's the problem and they haven't had the right manager in place to get the best out of them

We might but we should be well clear of them if virtually the whole team is better and the manager too

So how many more points is Zaha worth compared to McNeil?

Quite a few. Palace are terrible without Zaha their record is atrocious without him.

Not sure many Premier league managers would take Ben Mee over Cahill.

It is a bit but not in an arsey way. I just find it funny if we're comparing how us or Dyche has done against other teams and manager people will point out how other teams can spend lots more money to buy better players and how good Dyche has done to just compete.

Then on another topic if we are comparing other players individually or as a team to our own (Tarks / Maguire, Pope / Pickford, Burnley / Newcastle) the same people always seem to think that our players are better.

When you bring these two conversations together its just a bit contradictory. Anyhow I was only having a bit of fun with it so thanks for playing along

I know and I actually enjoy your posts. I think our starting 11 is very strong it’s the squad depth that lets us down. A good right winger and commanding midfielder and I think we have a very good side just no depth

Both teams are evenly matched, it's certainly not this glamorous step up for Dyche that people like to think, It's a weird obsession Burnley fans have in pretending we're some minnow pub team.

We’re a bigger club than Crystal Palace, and if Dyche did want to leave us, I think he would attract a bigger club than them.

Hopefully he’ll sign a new contract, though.

Would take Zaha and Eze in a heartbeat. You can keep the rest.
