Tipped on Sky Sports as Celtic Manager!!!! Crikey. Hated Burnley. Imagine how he'll love that cess-pit

Excellent. I will be so happy when they both fail miserably.

His style is similar to Rodgers and I think that's what is interesting Celtic.

Glasgow has moved on a bit since the Frankie Vaughan inspired documentaries of the 1960's

Say what you like about the standard up there, the pressure on either of those jobs is ridiculous, as intense as any in the UK.

Gerrard seems to love it, probably suits his character. Not sure how Eddie will find it, but no doubt will make a few astute signings for them.

We should get Jimmy Dunne to sign a new deal and then loan him to Celtic Jimmy did well at a similar level playing for Stanley

File alongside Graham Potter and Scott Parker in the "Thinking mans football manager" group....... all massively over rated.

I wish him well. I thought that he was homesick for the south coast and that is why he left Burnley.

To be fair I don't think it helped when his mother died and whether it be coincidence our form dipped if I remember rightly.

Could be Eddie's got a deal with the airline for tickets to Bournemouth after games so not needing to meet too many fans after his head

Well... Some of the visible/higher profile bits have been tarted up for consumption over the border maybe..but many of the hovels around Springburn/Drumchapel /Easterhouse still make Duke Bar/Stoops/Burnley Wood etc look like Beverly Hills.

Even harder knowing you're likely to win 90% of your games and still not win the league.

Can’t agree with your first paragraph. You have one other team to beat and that’s it. It’s an easier ride which is why you can fail in the PL and succeed up there either as a player or manager.

I'm not suggesting for a minute the standard is anything like the Prem. Just the pressure on either of those two managerial posts is as huge as any in England. If you're 2nd, you might as well be last. Imagine being Eddie, living in Glasgow and being 10 points behind Rangers. Look at the grief Lennon got this season and he's a legend there and won everything in the last few years. Didn't count for anything though, once Rangers went top.

I'm not sure Howe's cut out for that. It's certainly not an easy ride if you're not top of the league one week.

Not homesick. He had family issues that needed dealing with which he couldn't do from here. It was noticeable that more and more he wasn't available for press conferences because he was often back in Bournemouth in his latter months at Burnley. As much as I didn't like him, I respected the reason for his decision at the time. I've no idea how those issues are now being dealt with.

Good luck to him at Celtic, and he'll need it. I believe he's not taking his yes man with him.

Agreed mate but I hardly see him looking for a 2 bed flat around there or going out to find an illegal drinking den :D

Good luck to Eddie in Scotland all the negativity to the competition I think he might get a buzz from managing a team in this stadium in front of that crowd,I fully expect him to sign talent like he did for us a give Rangers a good going over, league championships look good on any managers CV

Good luck Eddie.

He's a nice guy Eddie.

Good luck. I wouldn't be too surprised if Gerrard gets drafted into Tottenham's thoughts.

I think Eddie would be a better fit than Gerrard at Spurs
