Not sure if that's a positive with the replay of all the away goals as in 4 today.....

we've got a group of players that for the most part give us everything, have won away at Liverpool, Everton and Arsenal this season. Given the level of competition and the weird season we've done well enough

The positives - We haven’t had to be present at the last ten winless home games (in all comps) and I missed out in the ballot for Wednesday 😀

I’d also like to think that a realisation will have hit home that 4-4-2 should be binned as our only go to formation and new players will be sought...

Well, we've manged to stay up which is a huge positive
especially after a poor start albeit the bottom 3 this year were very poor.
Given the strangeness of the covid season we've had some notable away wins
Wins at Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal, Wolves, Palace and Fulham with 13 goals for and
just the one against is fairly impressive.

However, I think we all know that we've got to rebuild the team.
Possibly significantly especially if we lose one or two of our better players.
Hopefully Dyche will stay. If not then a major rebuild is required.

We need at least 2/3 players who can make an impact and challenge
for a starting place. They'll have to be unknowns as we can't compete
for so called star players.

I think a couple of them at least could be funding the other 5 positions so could possibly mean 7 required ;)

We haven't played brilliantly today but neither have we played badly. Though they merited it in the end, the scoreline flattered them.

It's the inverse of the game against Derby in 2016 when everything went our way.

We need to improve where it matters most but the performance doesn't match the result.

Brownhill hasn’t been able to dislodge Cork or Westwood, and rightly so, based on performances so far. This in an area of the field where we do need to improve the first eleven.

Again, I’m not saying that he can’t or won’t make central midfield his own, but from what I’ve seen so far, I don’t see the quality to be more than a decent back up option.

He’s probably not been helped by not having a proper pre-season with us and he was also thrust into first team action sooner than might have been the plan.

Next season could prove to be a bit of a make or break for him at this level - he’ll be 26 come December and needs to be really staking his claim.

We need some better players. We never dominate mid field. If Vydra was a better finisher he would be worth a lot. A long hard look as to our poor home results. Again new players with more skill.

It highlighted for me how desperate we are for several new players and not those left in the “bargain basement”,

When the fourth went I was able to leave the Benalmadena Clarets in the Underground bar and sit outside in the sunshine, drinking ice-cold bottles of Mahou at €1 a bottle.

Hopefully now under new ownership the club can build up a better scouting network. Like Leicester have done for example. Even Brighton and Brentford. I think we have been restrained financially by the former owners to.prove they were fiscally astute but at the expense of being to parochial in our recruitment. Maybe the manager is also too parochial in his outlook with respect to players recruitment.

Result and performance won't look at all good to any club thinking about making a move for Dyche, also their supporters would be in uproar.

Sean goes further down the Palace recruitment list.

The owners free up that money they have but didn't really want to spend.

I've always thought it you have a run of bad games before a transfer window it really helps with recruitment.

Not in attracting players of course, but seeing if we only just stay up more serious rebuilding is needed.

If it's true I'd take an embarrassing loss in all our remaining games. Time for us to stop scraping by and get a good window under our belt.

100% agree Dmitri, however a good window for us would 3 first team quality signings. This isn’t players to come in and sit on the bench, 3 players that will go straight into the starting eleven.

We need at least 1 CM, 1 RW, 1 CB as an absolute minimum this summer.
