Surprised to see it's roughly around £30 million a season.

We've also nearly had 90m in departures since 15/16 too if you include the upcoming Gibson deal.

Indeed.

Considering we have this idea we don't really spend any money I was surprised to actually see it all laid out like that.

Impossible for them to be correct unless they have all the contract details. And deals are never a fixed amount in any case, they all seem to have lots of clauses in them now. Remember when we signed Andre Gray and the fee being mentioned was £9m when in fact it was under £5m initially. I'm sure it got up to £9 when we went up and stayed up. Then there's Ben Gibson, quoted at around £15m. One league appearance in three years will mean Middlesbrough missing out on a lot of that.

Also shows David Jones on there going on a free to Sheffield Wednesday. It was far from that.

Just looking at 07/08 Steve Cotterall. Brought in Robbie Blake, Clark Carlyle, Graeme Alexander and still made a profit on transfers.

He really had an eye for value .

Those fees aren't accurate - we didn't pay £9m for Jay-rod, throught it was a bargain price of two £2.5m yearly installments, so £5m? Was part of Baggies reducing their wage bill. Wouldn't have paid £9m at his age.

£30 million a year because we had a couple of seasons when we brought in the likes of Pope, wood, Taylor, Vydra, gudmundsson, defour who have provided great value to us. We did also have two costly errors in Gibson and Brady. Nahki wells is another who pushes prices up but in reality we sold him for just as much.
