Come on Barnsley! Come on Brentford! Tonight's Footy Monday 16th May

Post by Rowls » Mon May 17, 2021 4:27 pm

Play off time again.

Very often some of the most exciting games of the season where it's do or die.

Brentford would be a new ground, Barnsley have the least money of the challengers. Either of those two getting promoted would make me happy.

Bournemouth and Swansea to win

I also would like Barnsley to win and come up, but they have just lost form over the last few games.

Happy for Brentford to stay down, their play off record is woeful and for Burnley fans to continue to have their weird obsession with them.

Always remember going to a game at Oakwell back in the 90's and my m8 asked the seller how much the programmes were

"Tooo ... Tooo Pund please Tooo pund a programme"

🤭 in that broad South Yorkshire twang.

Hadn't realised Jonathan Woodgate was the Bournemouth manager.

He's maybe ranks alongside Southgate for me in the category most promising young English managers.

I'm very torn here (I'm not called Natalie, honest).

I had a bet at the start of the season on Swansea to be promoted so that would be profitable.
From where I live in north Hants, Bournemouth or Brentford are very accessible & enjoyable away-days
Would be great to have Burnsley back in the big-time.

May the best team win.

Barnsley for me, they'll be nailed into the bottom three all season.
And we're probably gonna need a bit of help next term....

Hmm! I seem to recall most people saying exactly the same about Sheff Utd a couple of seasons ago, so I'd be extremely wary about writing any of the promoted teams off.

Decent result for Bournemouth tonight, and they are in a good place to at least make the final, and should they emerge through the play-offs it'll be the 1st time ever that all 3 relegated sides have made an immediate return to the top flight, and should such a scenario occur I'm not sure what that tells us about the relative strength of the Championship compared to the PL, but there is clearly a growing divide developing.

Surely Brentford aren't going to blow it again are they, they are in danger of becoming the new Derby, look great for much of the season, but when it comes to the crunch they lose their bottle.

Callum Styles starts for Barnsley, so that's got to swing it for any Burnley fan hasn't it. :)

Just noticed this, most were wearing them at Bournemouth, the crowd seems more bunched together at Barnsley as well.

I ordered three for our game via friends & family and was informed that we would be close to each other while being socially distanced. They’ve put us in three seats together.

Hadn’t noticed the lack of masks at Barnsley but most people at Bournemouth had them on.

Would seem a bit daft asking them to wear a mask to sit outside in the fresh air when half of them will have just come from inside a pub without having to wear one.

Signed for them in January

Has 9 goals in 13 starts (6 further appearances as a sub). I believe he is only 20 though so a good age as well

4,000 apparently but they're certainly making themselves heard that's for sure, it's just great to finally have some fans back in the grounds again, and long may it continue.

Barnsley just go for it, don't they?

A bit like Leeds with less quality.

Tykes fans gave them some backing as well. I hope our lot are heard on Wednesday.

Being based near London would like either Brentford or Bournemouth to come up.

The missus is big on Bournemouth seen as I convinced her to come to the last away game there with a stop a nice pub for some lunch in the New Forest and she's after a repeat!
