Apparently working for ALK as a technical consultant and been informally working with the club for a number of months. Sounds like he has been lined up as a replacement to Rigg or Pepper

He’s ex Middlesbrough isn’t he?

I’ve mentioned for a while that Rigg’s position was less than secure. Not heard anything regarding Pepper though.

Having taken the academy from the **** state it was in all the way through to Category 1 in a damn short time it’d be a very big surprise if Jon Pepper was the person who’ll be edged out. The only reason I can see for him going would be if there were personal differences between him and Alan Pace/ALK.

Rigg though I can well see being in the firing line...the line in the Athletic article about him not being available to comment and being away on leave certainly suggests “gardening leave” to me...

That should make someone who writes longer posts than me very happy

Can't say I'll be sorry to see the back of Rigg TBH, and I'm struggling to think of one positive action he's achieved throughout his time at Burnley.

I guess it makes sense that the new owners will want to get their own recruitment team in place, and as always they'll be judged by their success or lack of in the upcoming windows.

Usually the case with that role that you are not made aware of what they do. I know he's made significant academy and recruitment changes.

Rigg's main problem was he was always going to be compared to the likes of Frank McParland rightly or wrongly.

Two totally different people doing two totally different roles I would say and McParland was hardly here long enough for us to form any opinion of him.
