Much changed from the squad of 12 months ago, I can’t see the need for a spinner (Leach) this summer.

Not in English conditions no, and if England do need someone to wheel down a few overs now and again Joe Root is perfectly capable of that task.
If the ECB stick to their rotation policy then many of this squad won't feature in the Indian series, so if they want to stake a claim they only have 2 tests to make their case.
