How are we looking in regards to total sales? There seems to have a been a decline in ST holders each Premier League season and was wondering if that trend has been bucked. My gut feeling is that we won’t have and could be looking at our lowest average gate this season in comparison to previous ones.
Sadly, we will be quite a few down on previous seasons through varied reasons.
A couple of big signings will get bums on seats again.

you have to feel that his decision is going to have impact on capacity at the Turf - from the Mail

EXCLUSIVE: Premier League clubs stunned by 'absolutely crazy' decision to keep socially distanced dressing rooms as they are left scrambling to solve logistical nightmare less than three weeks before start of the season
  • Premier League clubs believed they could return to normal use of home and away dressing rooms when the new season begins
  • But the Premier League has changed its mind and will continue to require socially distanced dressing rooms
  • Many clubs built temporary structures to accommodate visiting teams and comply with Covid-19 protocols
  • Return of supporters to stadiums makes the situation a logistical nightmare for many clubs with the big kick-off less than three weeks away now
By MIKE KEEGAN FOR MAILONLINE

PUBLISHED: 11:36, 28 July 2021 | UPDATED: 12:03, 28 July 2021

The Premier League is on a collision course with some of its clubs after performing an apparent u-turn over dressing rooms less than three weeks before the start of the new season.

Sides had been thought that it would be business as usual when the campaign kicks off on August 14, with temporary, socially-distanced facilities a thing of the past and original home and away dressing rooms back in use.

However, sources have disclosed that the top flight has now told its clubs that dressing rooms need to again be socially-distanced, which has left many contemplating a return to banqueting suites, bars and cabins on car parks.

With fans set to be present, there are grave concerns that clubs face a logistical nightmare with some known to be in uproar over the move.

Some have already made the league aware that they have no intention of going back to last year's arrangements, while others have pointed out it would be 'impossible' to do so given the return of fans.

Some are even understood to have started dismantling facilities and have been left stunned by the volte-face.

'It's absolutely crazy,' said one official. 'There was a call between the league and all the facilities guys last week and this was not mentioned.

'Weeks ago we were told that everything would be back to normal. Some clubs have started taking down the facilities they used last season and now they're being told this? It isn't fair and it doesn't make any sense.'

Many clubs with older stadia had to make new arrangements last season. Manchester United and Everton created temporary facilities for visitors outside their grounds.

Aston Villa had the away team use the media room and at Leeds, the visiting side used a bar area and then came down steps in the stadium to the pitch. Chelsea hosted their opponents in a nearby leisure centre.

With the return of supporters, a return to such set-ups will be incredibly challenging.

Sportsmail understands that clubs are preparing letters to the Premier League, in which they reject the proposal.

Premier League sources say they are continuing to go through the protocols and that no decisions have been made. They add that work is ongoing an say they are working to find solutions with clubs with safety a priority at a time when numbers of cases are still high.

In June, the Premier League said that it would remain agile to the changing environment and take emergency measures if necessary.

How long is the queue?
Sorry for the delayed reply, missed this.

For me it was quite long, queued down the ramp towards the club shop. I’d say I was there about 30 minutes waiting to be seen. Was shorter when I left but still a queue. I think a few had given up & decided to return later.

I was in & out really but when I was in there I overheard two families being set up as “new fans” - no clarets number - which surprised me.

Hard to know how many didn’t renew in phases 1 & 2 but judging by the queue, messages on here and on social media there are a lot returning or buying for ST’s for the first time (my wife included) so wouldn’t be shocked to hear we’ve increased ST holders substantially & tickets are harder to come by next year.

A few exciting signings may also help!!!

Thanks for the update, I think a fair few 'lapsed' season ticket holders will return after the footy drought, myself being one of them.
I did my purchase online rather than risk a long queue and got a good seat in Block 2 in the Bob Lord Stand, the best stand in my opinion.

Re- socially distanced dressing rooms; don't our temporary arrangements for visiting teams block the exit from the CFS?

Yes, I think a lot will have missed it; the whole pandemic has been a good reminder not to take anything for granted and to do things while you can.

You did well to buy online. Most there had tried & failed. I sorted my account out properly today though so hopefully able to buy away tickets on there now 🤞🏻👍🏻

Mon 02/08/21.

Has anyone any idea why I can't buy a season ticket this morning online?

It is saying (in a big red banner) 'Season Tickets not available'.

Don't know but possibly if the CF stand home section can't be used (and I'm not saying that it can't) then the Club may be having to find seats for all the ST holders in there in other parts of the ground for the Brighton game before they sell any more ST's??

Assume one solution, albeit temporary, would be to not allow away fans and move the Home CFS fans into the away section, allowing the away temp dressing room to operate.

Not ideal for away fans, but if the PL are playing silly beggars that's the fairest solution imo

When did this become a potential issue Leisure?

They have done Phase 1, 2 and last week even new Phase 3 tickets in the CFS last week.

According to Woody on the Blackburn thread, just 11,500 season tickets sold. Very worrying.

And people wonder why the club were keen for supporters to keep their money tied up. Reductions were always going to be likely as people get out of the habit. Not to mention the uncertainty around capacity. Hopefully the numbers will pick up before the start of the season.

Hopefully they will but if true that is a huge deficit. You currently can’t buy ST’s on line for some reason and still no news of sales for Brighton a week and a half away. The silence is just weird.

Looks like we’ll have the lowest attendances in the league this season.

That’s very doubtful considering Brentford’s capacity.

17500 capacity that will be full every week. We won’t get above that for the majority of games if the ST figures above are correct.

I'll be amazed if we average under 17500, if there are no restrictions on capacity.

I hope you are right but we’ll need a much larger amount of walk ons compared to previous seasons to manage that.

I can't see this happening. It will be too difficult with fans in the ground to have players coming from varied bits of the ground and its surroundings.
