"A ******* joke"

Jon Moss should take that as a compliment.

Got to admire how confident he is in a second language.

Don't particularly like Maupay , but he's spot on with what he called " i can't keep up with the game " Moss .

I don't think there's any place in the game for self-entitled, loudmouth gobshites like Maupay either, to be honest.

If we removed all the self-entitled loudmouth gobshites from football, we'd have very few players left.

Jon Moss takes a lot of stick, however, he is one of the referees who played at a decent level and he knows the game.
He had a good game in charge of that match and Maupay was well out of order at the end and has got the punishment he deserves. It would have been easy for Jon to walk away, however, Maupay insisted on having his say and has paid for it.

Referees are, on the whole, fair minded, unbiased, hard working and fairly skilled individuals carrying out a thankless task. Some footballers, on the other hand, are spoiled, privileged, cheating, overpaid tossers who have as much self control as an angry flea.

3 games to go in the season, nothing to play for, forces a 3 match ban........very strange.

I long for the day they start sin-binning players for back chat, giants of men just get on with it in Rugby yet these mouth tossers cry like petulant children in our sport

My issue with Moss is that he is totally unfit and doesn’t keep up with the pace of the game .

In your opinion, however, he passes the necessary tests, which are not easy, to enable him to do his job.
You do not referee 31 matches in 33 weeks at his level, covering between 6 and 8 miles in every game, if you are not fit

Some good replies there Ashington, the referees’ champion!
I do however agree with you, reffing is far from easy.

At a club I used to play for we had the referees' training programme for our sessions, and it is very hard going, certainly for amateur footballers. Very few of us could complete all the levels and we generally regarded ourselves as one of the fittest teams in the league.

He has a bit of middle age podge and a wobbly chin, but he clearly fit enough to be a top level ref.
Even if you have concerns as to the competence of a referee, every single one of them in the top division is fit enough to do it.

CleggHall ---only if they deserve it. I have been at a loss with a few of them recently, however, I am stepping away from watching PL football and will watch non-league when "the referee's decision will be final" ---just as it used to be before VAR. :D

He clearly isn’t, I’ve got eyes

Bearing in mind average walking speed is 4mph , 6 miles in half an hour is about right for this unfit clown as that’s about his limit (walking pace)

Try it while you are making split decisions and keeping 22 players, trying to bend the Laws, under control and then put yourself in for the fitness test. It really is an enjoyable experience.
Why do players only run 7 miles per game on average. after all, they are young and super fit, so it should be a doddle, yet they moan about having to play too many games in a short time.
Looking at 2019/20, Burnley FC make very few changes but only 4 players played in 30 or more PL matches last season and one was the goalkeeper.
