Post by ClaretTony » Fri May 21, 2021 5:08 pm

Just gathered the thoughts of three chairmen and one manager of the four clubs who have joined the partnership with the Clarets

Stuart Ashton won’t be in charge of Rams next season. Works for FAI and they’ve banned double-jobbing after the Delaney affair.

I came across that searching for info on when he was with us. Drew a blank on that but did come across an article that he signed Kevin Long for Cork City.

Blimey, I already feel like a fan of our new partners....come on Ayr, Portadown, Llandudno & uncle Cobh ramblers and all. Good luck all.

Weirdly you sort of get an interest in them. Cobh currently 1-0 up against Athlone.

Agreed Tony, I'll be looking out for their games, must admit I missed that one though 😁

I knew they were playing from checking out the quotes today. 😀😀

I know you aren’t going to get negative comments but all four clubs seem genuinely excited by the partnership and we will probably be showing an interest from next season with some of our players potentially being out on loan at these clubs.

I like this. Especially the Cobh Ramblers kit link.

I knew they played in claret & blue, found that out when we went to Cork in 2013, but I’d no idea until yesterday that it was because of us.

And bad news - Athlone have turned it round in the second half and won 2-1.

It’s great just as long we don’t end up with player ratings threads for our new partner’s matches. There’d be a fair few on here with a cobh on after that turnaround.

“ For one brief moment I thought we’d made a signing.”

That had me laughing

All seems very promising. Hope we can help them all in the short term and develop it in to a mutually beneficial relationship in the longer term.

Not sure it can fail to be honest. Worse case scenario is gaining nothing from it but I do think there is some real potential for it to be a positive move.

I can’t see any negatives. AP and his team seem to be making some really positive changes.

Pre season taking in all of these teams away would be a good road trip.

Hell of a road trip. I can see the u23s going to Llandudno and maybe the first team could fit in Cobh with Dyche having a liking for Ireland.
