They would have been an anathema to those that watched our FA Cup win and first League Championship - they were a dominant feature after the war for a reasonably lengthy period but while relevant to that history they are not an essential feature of our overall strip history is my point, certainly not in the same way people would view blue sleeves (which do not feature on my favourite strip) and white shorts. that is what I am saying. What you and a fair number of others are viewing as essential is actually a very deeply held preference, which is fine, but I maintain it is not essential. It is an important semantic distinction

Doesn't reek of expertise!Chester Perry wrote: ↑Sat May 22, 2021 6:56 pmThat is difficult to determine - The new owners changed the format of the boards on the Bob Lord stand from double stack to single stack and probably increased the price, hence the change of profile in sponsors there - they are much more in camera shot than those on the Jimmy Mac/Cricket Field and the boards are a little bigger (that said some of the names feature on all three stands) - the club have had 3 boards carrying the clubs identity on the Bob Lord since the changes, 7 on the Jimmy Mac and 3 on the Cricket field - what has been noticeable is the increasingly local profile on those hoardings only Stanley (tools), Bristol St Motors and the betting partner are the remaining non local advertisers

That's interesting because the info I had just this week is that there isn't a deal in place.leightonjameslegend wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 9:47 amIn my calls with the club about sponsorship, it was pretty much said new sponsor in place and they couldn't comment at this time.
Re: New Kits 21/22
Our new kit sponsor was agreed a few weeks ago
Re: New Kits 21/22
If we aren’t going with betting companies the other big name already on board with us is Etoro.Maybe they might sponsor the shirts?
Re: New Kits 21/22
Still no news on new kits. This seasons Yellow shirts have just gone half price.

As I understand it, the shirt makers offer different designs to the club, and the players then choose the ones they want to wear. If that's the case, why not involve the fans? I'm sure we'd make better choices than some of the players. I mean, who at Man U picked their zebra shirts last year?

Old kits now on sale for £15, so presumably that will run for a week or two before the new kits start to be released?

Re: New Kits 21/22
There seems to have been a rise in the amount of Dafabet 'content' promoted by the club's social media feeds since the LoveBet adverts started disappearing. Given they've sponsored us before, we probably have a good relationship with them. They also will be sponsoring Norwich in the Prem next year, so it's clearly still an area they are involved in. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see them on next season's kits.

Pace said he would review it but would not force his personal views. At the end of the day betting sponsorship is far more lucrative than non betting sponsorship.
As was posted, Dafabet are suddenly more involved again which is why it wouldn’t surprise me.

Re: New Kits 21/22
As stated above the new kit was ready for the last 2 games of the season, but having spoken to the Store Manager issues with still being in contract with Love Bet forced our hand and we were unable to wear it.
All three kits are done and dusted, he was unable to discuss colours but I have an idea on the colours of the home kit.
Now, as also suggested the hold up is the 21/22 sponsor, one as good as confirmed but another lurking and a small possibility.

Re: New Kits 21/22
there is a possible advantage of moving away from a betting sponsor this summer rather than wait for it to be enforced by legislation, in that there will be less direct competition for the limited number of no-betting partners out there who can afford a reasonable approximation of what the betting sponsors offer - it may (it may not as well) mean less money in the short term, but it will would be a less troubled ,arketplace than say next summer with such legislation in placeClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 5:50 pmPace said he would review it but would not force his personal views. I can say with absolute certainty that Pace and the board will decide on sponsorship's with their personal views as a barometer.
Not a bad thing but certainly reduces options.

It would surprise me. Our chairman is a Mormon. If he is serious about his beliefs then profiting from a betting company would be strange. However, he is also a very successful businessman, so perhaps I am being naive.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 5:28 pmI know we haven’t got a sponsor as yet but Dafabet wouldn’t surprise me

I think they'd have said that was the reason so they could get people ready to buy the new shirt on launch day.
We are getting closer, I believe a shirt sponsorship deal is done now.

True - would build more anticipation than an announcement of a stock take And it probably makes perfect sense given the timing/financial year.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 11:28 amI think they'd have said that was the reason so they could get people ready to buy the new shirt on launch day.

Although I did wonder if our existing arrangements expired today, allowing announcement tomorrow - for which you’d presumably want shut of all your old stock/branding for?
That’s pleasing news. A good sponsor in your opinion?

I don't know who it is but I wouldn't BET against it being a similar company to the ones we've had in recent years.

To be fair, AP and his team haven’t had long to develop the commercial strategy and the economic climate probably makes a tough job even harder.
We won’t have companies queuing out the door so I imagine we’ll have had to take what we can get this year. I don’t think anyone could complain about that economic reality, really.
