Despite experiencing many more downs than ups overall, we are of course safe from relegation, but nonetheless we continue Counting today in hope of persuading the ethereals to help us gain a final three points from our away match at Sheffield United.

Your Estimates will be welcomed between now and 3pm sharp, and should include a full Unit total besides separate guesses as to peach, pear, apricot and pineapple pieces (in this order, if you please), and naturally a figure for jooose, which in this case is grape juice from concentrate.

The Count Result plus Winners' details will be posted, and the final leaderboard published, between 3 and 4pm.

Thoroughly enjoyable and extremely well organised! For my inaugural season, I’m quite happy with my couple of high scoring returns. I’ll be spending my summer counting baked beans, tinned strawberries (awful) and pickled mini gherkins. Thanks Admiral.

OK. That's it for entries.

The number of Units was very small indeed, the result being Peach 7, Pear 3, Apricot 2 and Pineapple 6, which gave a total of only 18. Meanwhile the jooose at 180mls was exactly ten times that.

Kindonesque wins the total Unit Count with his guess of 20, and with a further point for the nearest pineapple entry scores 6 Counting-points.

Minnieclaret took one point plus a bonus for his bang-on peach Estimate, and moreover is our jooose winner with his figure of 178. He scores 5 altogether.

Jdrobbo with an identical peach guess earns himself 2 points.


And then we appear to have a problem. On the face of it, claretdavid won in both the pear and apricot categories and in theory thus scores two points plus two bonus points for a total of 4.

However, I cannot award these points without clarification from david, whose whole entry seems highly suspicious if we compare his 9-3-2-7-21 figures with the actual ones of 7-3-2-6-18.

It would seem that david either accessed an old Count involving a similar Tin, or indeed obtained an identical Tin so as to check its contents. Otherwise, he is a truly incredible Counter who fully deserves to be this season's champion.

Only you can clarify this matter, david, and so I await your response.

Absolutely wonderful, Admiral! Does that two points mean that I have qualified for the summer champions tinned food count league?

Is it just me who thinks the top three have got shops orc access to a cash and carry?

I've missed the count again. I was in great form this season too and felt I could have given David some serious competition if I'd been available week in week out. Ah well, I look forward to counting in Europe and returning to domestic action next season.

JD - All the Euro Counting leagues along with others around the world have been cancelled due to viral issues. However, you can always stay in training for next season's UTC competition which is renowned as one of the world's best.
