Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
I really hope he brings on Vydra on and keeps JBG on for the second half.

Its been a template game for 20-21. Bright start. Go behind to a sloppy goal. Drift out of the game
I predict a bright start to the 2nd half and then drift out. We have no options really to change the game from the bench due to our thin squad.

Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
Poor half. I hope Dyche reminds them strongly just for starters of his minimum requirement is the maximum effort mantra.

Let’s try every formation we can to avoid playing Vydra

They should be embarrassed by that first half

How about Vydra ?

Horrendous half of football.
Really sad to witness us like this.

Once u see Wood up front on his own. U can watch out. No outlet for ball.
Hoof it. Midfield whether 4 or 5 still nobody willing to create a pass to break down a defence.

Got to be Vydra on for the second. And I’d be surprised if he doesn’t make that change. Probably the anonymous JBG to make way.
I didn’t expect a blistering performance but that was awful. At least Vydra will have the enthusiasm to try and make things happen.

Not good enough for what? That’s why the season is played over 38 games rather than 1 meaningless one.

We’ll that was a tad crap wasn’t it. Can’t for the life of me understand why Vydra didn’t start other than Dyche’s random vendetta against him.

Might as well of started with kids, at least they should of been up for it and sure couldn’t do worse.
Norris Sh**e
Tarks thinks he’s Pirlo with 75yr wonder passes
Cork every pass is side ways or back.
Westwood just hits it anywhere.
Brownhill just full of turns and then passes back.

Throw on Richardson and Nartey, Sheff United used recent games to blood their 17 year old forward who's looked quite lively, what have we got to lose?

hang on lads, we complain that we always play 4-4-2, Dyche tries something different and you complain. It's the perfect game to try something. It's clearly not working so the manager needs to figure out if that's down to tactics, players or attitude.
So far it's the perfect end to a crap football season

I worry that Dyche knows Vydra is off and he’s seeing if we can perform without him

So glad I've not paid for bt sport.
Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
I up front against Sheff Utd is just pathetic. The basics are all wrong and as mentioned above the mentality. Dreadful half of football. You don’t expect much from the 2 League One players but the other other 9 could show some pride and a glimpse of skill.

Probably Grant, he had a horrible habit of conceding from distance. I always thought he needed glasses.clarethomer wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 4:33 pmPoor goalkeeping - you don't expect shots from that distance to go in.
I seem to recall that was something Dyche has said historically when we went through a period of conceding like this. Don't know why but I seem to recall it being a game against Sunderland that we had.
Up to that point - no team had really had a chance.

Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
I think the extra midfielder was intended to offer more protection to our weakened defence and more significantly the keeper. Now we’re behind we may as well throw that caution to the wind and pray that another one of their players doesn’t fancy passing one in from 25 yards.
Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
Considering we’ve had five across the middle, we’ve been pretty woeful in midfield. Brownhill done nothing to suggest that he’s an option, Cork and Westwood not done enough at either end and JBG / McNeil created nothing.
I hope that midfield is a key focus this summer.

I'm talking generally through the season.
Ffs Vydra has been playing. Or have you been asleep for the last 2 months?
I'm sure Vydra will come on 2nd half. He's not going to change it first half is he? We might go 442?
My point is chasing games we have v limited options

Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
Only 442 complaints were because it was Barnes and Wood and not the inclusion of some guile with Jay Rod or pace and guile with VydraVegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 4:57 pmhang on lads, we complain that we always play 4-4-2, Dyche tries something different and you complain. Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
People want a change against big teams when they have more of the ball to help midfield. Nobody wants it against bottom of the league. It should be 442 with Vydra and WoodVegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 4:57 pmhang on lads, we complain that we always play 4-4-2, Dyche tries something different and you complain. Norris chucks one in...let’s hope to god it is just a new backup keeper needed. As soon as Ben is out of the team the defence looks very poor. It happens every time and is no coincidence.

I posted on the Leeds prediction thread that i didn't expect us to win any of our final 3 games.
Looks like it could be worse than that with us losing all 3 games to Nil.
