Inter Milan
a few stories are knocking about (La Gazzetta dello Sport) that Conte is going to quit because he's been told to raise over 85 million in player sales and reduce their wage bill by 20% just to keep the club afloat !

Re: Inter Milan
Read Conte's name being mentioned with the Spurs job, that would be funny.
Not sure Levy is suited to having an angry man as his manager

Re: Inter Milan
Surely selling Lukaku will generate the EUR85m plus 20% wage cut. Nothing to throw your toys out of a pram over there, especially if it's to keep the club afloat.
Re: Inter Milan
If there is a fire sale why not get in there and try and buy a couple of players at reduced cost. Get in early before the big boys do and you never know

Re: Inter Milan
You can understand why Conte is unhappy about it, but I can also see why the owners want to get the club on an even keel. I'd rather applaud that decision, that watch them turn into the next Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona.
The Lille manager has quit after winning the French League. Not sure what his reasons are, but it does seem strange, managers quitting after that kind of success.

Lille manager wants a new challenge, doesn't want to stay in one place and get stale.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 12:21 pmYou can understand why Conte is unhappy about it, but I can also see why the owners want to get the club on an even keel. Re: Inter Milan
It the owners accept the finance deal in place they will probably end up losing the club - it involves double digit interest and requires systemic cost cutting. As previously posted this is because a large number of sponsors at Inter Milan were "owner friendly" and therefore inflated, Inter Milan's major shareholders are Suning a Chinese corporation that has been particularly badly hit in the pandemic (partly due to being quite highly leveraged. A couple of months back Suning were effectively rescued by the Chinese government who now own a sizeable amount of the company. We have also been aware for some time of the refocus dictated by the Chinese government on international investments (they much generate cash inwards to China not siphon it out) and football (develop Chinese talent, not foreign clubs).Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 12:21 pmYou can understand why Conte is unhappy about it, but I can also see why the owners want to get the club on an even keel. What is telling is that should Suning accept the offer from OakTree Capital is that this is the same way city rivals AC Milan ended up falling into the hands of American Private Equity - they could not meet the debt servicing - what has happened since that takeover though has been much better in the fans eyes as the club has become a much better performer on and off the field.
As for Conte, he was the driver behind much of the spending, never satisfied (he gets results) but the long term cost is rarely worth it for the owner.

Re: Inter Milan
or he see his stock fall as his club inevitably cannot sustain the performance level and does not have the finance to meet the necessary squad improvements which means the exercise will be more like the last successful Monaco team, all the stars sold within a year or soGodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 12:49 pmLille manager wants a new challenge, doesn't want to stay in one place and get stale.
Re: Inter Milan
Looks like that, Chester.
Keeper Maignan is bound for Milan (done deal).
Boubakary Soumaré is reportedly close to signing for Leicester
Sven Botman, highly rated young CB signed from Ajax, linked with ESL MUPLC.
Jonathan Ikoné linked with Dortmund.
Roma interested in Renato Sanches
