Blackpool in the play-off final
So far, they’ve managed to win on five out of eight attempts. That’s a pretty impressive record and a heck of a lot of adrenaline for Seasiders fans.
This weekend, that record could become six from nine!
Anyone any idea how many times Blackpool have made the play-offs without necessarily reaching the final? It’s a hell of a record.
I miss our games with Blackpool.

Re: Blackpool in the play-off final
I remember them failing against Bradford City, much to my dismay. They’d won at Valley Parade (0-2) and were that confident of winning the home leg, they published Wembley ticket information - they lost (0-3).
Aside from that, I’ve never minded Blackpool so good luck to them against Lincoln.

Good luck to them. They’ve had a terrible decade and most of us older Burnley fans know how that feels.

As Holme says, they have had some proper shite to put up with in the last ten years or so...
I don’t mind the seasiders. Be nice for them to start moving up again.

I always thought Blackpool really added something to the Championship when they were in there, and I enjoyed our clashes with them. They were good value in their one season in the PL too - very unlucky to go down in the end.
Best of luck to them.

Hope the Tangerines make it up to the Championship, far rather them than those Lincoln cloggers.
And it would be hilarious if both Blackpool and Preston finished above Rovers next season, the meltdown on the LET website would be something to behold.
Yes it's worth remembering that they amassed 39 points when they went down, which in pretty much every season since would have been more than enough to survive comfortably.

What odds would you get for a Blackpool, Preston, Blackburn promotion treble. Would a tenner make me rich?

You'd get good odds, but I don't fancy your chances!

Allardyce was their manager at the time and was it Kamara who managed Bradford?DCWat wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 9:56 amI remember them failing against Bradford City, much to my dismay. Well losing it wouldn't make you poorer by any more than a tennerduncandisorderly wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 10:46 amWhat odds would you get for a Blackpool, Preston, Blackburn promotion treble. Would a tenner make me rich?

Fingers crossed for a Blackpool win.
Don't particularly like Blackpool fans who I find to be a gobby obnoxious bunch, but to their credit they do travel in numbers and always make a good derby day atmosphere, which can't be said for their pathetic neighbours PNE

Blackpool reacted that play off defeat and sacked their manager Sam AllardyceDCWat wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 9:56 amI remember them failing against Bradford City, much to my dismay. Not worth it at any odds. In the same way as I would never lay a bet on Burnley to lose, I could never lay on bet on Blackburn, Leeds or Wolves (that one's a more personal prejudice) to win.duncandisorderly wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 10:46 amWhat odds would you get for a Blackpool, Preston, Blackburn promotion treble. Re: Blackpool in the play-off final
In a way same as me with Rovers. I can sympathise with Blackpool and their fans but never Blackburn. Too much history, especially when they were lauding it over us for so many years. I couldn’t care less what happens to them.AfloatinClaret wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 2:09 pmNot worth it at any odds. Re: Blackpool in the play-off final
Thanks Ashington. I seem to recall the game DCWat is referring to though, when they lost 3/2 on aggregate to Bradford. So perhaps ten play offs?Ashingtonclaret46 wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 3:54 pmjdrobbo ----each time that they have been in the play-offs they have got through to the final.

Re: Blackpool in the play-off final
jdrobbo ---I was wrong because I misread my handwriting ---they were beaten by Bradford City exactly as you have said in the semi-finals in 1995/6 season. Strangely enough, they finished 3rd in the league that season, just as they have this season and these are the only times that they have done that. I hope that it is not a bad omen!
