Aguero coming on soon
Last throw of the dice from Pep he's got to try something because this game is slipping away from City, and really Chelsea should be on easy street now with the amount of clear cut chances they've spurned.

All over and a well deserved victory for Chelsea, Tuchel's not had a bad start to his career at the Bridge has he.

As for City and Pep he yet again tried to be too clever by half and it cost him and them big time.

You have to ask are City destined to never win this trophy.

And that's 3/3 for Tuchel against City in a matter of weeks, they must be sick of the sight of him, he certainly has the Indian sign over Pep's men.

Well done Chelsea, a desrved win. Pep got his starting eleven wrong and Chelsea took advantage. Also, what great game from the referee: he saw everything, he didn't get fooled by players rolling about, he was in complete control throughout witbout any histrionics. I hope our PL refs were watching that display.

We should start importing refs as well as players!!

Very good manager but has messed up the big games regularly. Messi wasn’t there to bale him out today.

Kante ran the match. World class. Showed what City were missing. The other thing they are missing is Kane - they need to buy him at any price.

But back to Pep, you don’t win matches with square pegs in round holes - they had that at left back, at holding midfield, and up front. Huge errors.

The football - an absolute masterclass from a player who will retire having won just about everything in the game but never troubling the Ballon D’Or voting. Step forward N’Golo Kante. What a player. Pep got it wrong, Tuchel told Kante to go out and prove it. He did. And then some. Can’t stand either team but I respect a tactic or two and a player when I see him and he is genuinely one of the best players The Premier League has ever had.

As for the Twitter vid. Chinning a lad when he’s not looking with your handbag on, throwing bits of paper at each other and acting like helmets. The complete opposite of how it went for United mates in Gdańsk last week. United fans all agreed - if they had to lose, a nicer club and bunch of fans they couldn’t wish to meet.

It’s a funny old world.

Well done Chelsea and their Manager, a masterclass in how to nullify a technically better team.

No disrespect intended but if I was SD I'd be watching the dvd of that game for some clues as to how we avoid our usual double pasting by City next season.

(Granted Chelsea probably have some better players than ours)..;-)

Pep had made it all the way to the final this year, just picking his best team and not going all “look at my masterclass crazy genius idea”.

But he couldn’t resist in the final. No striker is to be expected for him but no holding midfielder was a touch self indulgent. Chelsea were the far better side, loads of great performances - Chilwell, Kante and James were awesome - but mostly they clearly had a plan which they all understood.

The cold, hard truth for Man City's owners is that if they desperately want to win the CL then they have to get rid of Guardiola as they'll never win it with him in charge.

Since his time at Barcelona he's failed miserably at Bayern Munich and now at Man City, despite having the biggest budget.

It was a bizarre line up from Pep. He’ll have forgotten more about the game than I know, but equally, your average fan knew as soon as that line up was released that it was the wrong team selection. To not play a natural holding midfielder was negligent at best.

I've had no interest in either European Final and some say it's just growing old and the sport has changed.

Nope.

You're not fooling me, I've been part of the sublime of the 70s and 40,000 marauding warriors watching the match and teams with a proper identity, now these foreign mercenary any-teams change each-year the line-up nobodies, again to get fans to lose long term interest and kill the game off over a 10 year period.

Imagine Sean Dyche stopping the truck instead of Jimmy Conway in Goodfellas.

He might say "I don't know who you are, we're Burnley and we play 4-4-2 with an English mentality team and that's yr lot. Come and have a go if you're hard enough."

etc. :-)
