Re: ARTICLE: Micky Mellon back at Tranmere
So the managerial merry-go-round continues, well this certainly explains why he left his post at Dundee United so suddenly anyway.
Maybe a chance for one or two of our youngsters to go there on loan and gain first team experience with the MM connection.
Tranmere will be one of the favourites for promotion so he'll need to get off to a good start or the fans will be grumbling.

I don’t think he left Dundee United to go to Tranmere. It’s more that Tranmere have come in because he’d left Dundee United.tiger76 wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 1:40 pmSo the managerial merry-go-round continues, well this certainly explains why he left his post at Dundee United so suddenly anyway.

Possibly but it's yet another case of a club rehiring a manager they'd previously ditched, and this seems to be a growing habit in recent months.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 3:15 pmI don’t think he left Dundee United to go to Tranmere. I hope it all works out for Micky he was always a terrier on the pitch so those traits should carry over into his management style, but make no bones about it the pressure will be on him to succeed at Tranmere 2nd time around, although TBF to them they do appear one of the better run clubs, and they don't generally make knee jerks decisions over managers.

Tranmere didn’t ditch him. He left of his own choosing to go to Dundee United.tiger76 wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 3:28 pmPossibly but it's yet another case of a club rehiring a manager they'd previously ditched, and this seems to be a growing habit in recent months.

This is a potential club at a decent level to loan some of our promising youngsters to.

It’s over 20 years since he played for us although he did coach in the centre of excellence a few years ago before he went into management and his son is with us.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 9:21 pmThis is a potential club at a decent level to loan some of our promising youngsters to.
We need to build these links. I’m not sure what level of player might go out to our new partners but there will also be Football League managers who Dyche will trust such as Barton, Taylor & Duff.
