Alan Pace on the summer for Burnley:

"It should be a busy one, we have already started.

"We are working hard trying to get things lined up the way Sean and folks would like them,

"We are all about this summer being a busy one!"

He comes across a little more convincing than Neil Hart

Hopefully he's main interest is sport.

I've just been speaking to a city trader and he says you don't invest in something you don't know about, so presumably 'In Dyche we trust' about football.

The early signs are positive we're at least looking lively in the market, which hasn't always been the case especially this early in the window, but I'll judge Alan Pace and everybody else on what they do not what they say.

Talk is cheap actions speak louder than words is the phrase which comes to my mind.

So I'll reserve judgement just yet and wait and see what transpires over the course of the summer.

All sounding positive but got to make it happen. Certainly doesn’t sound like Dyche is going anywhere.

That’s all we can do although it remains to be seen if it’s this window alone that will reveal the whole picture. To be fair to Pace and his team, it’ll take a few years for us to really be able to judge them.

We’ve a lot of catching up to do in terms of squad investment, too much for one window, probably. Im just hoping that we can improve the first eleven whilst also looking at players that will come in and develop into first team players over the coming year or two - cranking up that conveyor belt.

Football good. Forecast fair.

However since last season a major change has taken place and that is the media tech advancements at Turf Moor.

Think carbon footprint but perhaps more importantly think lithium battery and world resources and betting and sponsorship and VAR and with respect to the power surge when everyone puts the kettle on at half-time.

If VAR is a method for real time betting in the East then there is no football there at all, just electric commercial exchange and at a cost to world resource and ongoing world resource wars at Burnley's expense with no respect for the town and its core support base.

This is why if there is to be a shirt sponsor, something good that locals have some kin with, like local beer.

I think despite all the talk of what we’d like to do and what we’re trying to do coming from the club, we as fans need to remain realistic in that there is only so much we can do. We can show an interest and we can put in bids for players we like the look of, but we cant make the numbers match (their and our valuations of players) any more than we can make the player want to come here instead of Norwich or Southampton or Brentford or anywhere else for that matter. We will very often be the last resort for players to move to. That’s not a complaint in any way, just a fact. We need players who are smart enough to see how they can improve and develop under a fantastic coaching team, great management and superb facilities as opposed to getting £2k a week more somewhere else. Surely SD has shown over the years he and his team can improve players?

The noises from the club certainly don’t suggest an imminent departure of the manager.

The biggest signing AP can make is Dyche, that’s what I’m waiting on the most.

Keep Dyche, bolster the squad with some quality players and who knows where we will finish, could be a less stressful season.

Agree entirely mate.

Although I think the media speculation is purely because the entire world knows we need to sign players, and now have the means (or intention) to actually sign some, so that will naturally lead to more media coverage - whether it’s any more accurate remains to be seen.

This would be massive - particularly if he commits to a new 2-3 year deal or so.

Without sounding arrogant or complacent, Dyche would not take Burnley down in my opinion. A couple of decent first team signings (particularly a winger to walk into the first 11, and a replacement for Tarkowski if he goes) and a couple of younger squad players to eventually be worked into the team and we’re all set.

Any chance you can use one of your `mind tricks` on AP to make this happen sharpish like?

He could be set to leave tomorrow for all we know but from what I understand he is more likely to be our manager next season than not. New contract? I wouldn’t be surprised.

Come on Alan come out about Dyche and then everyone else can have a summer holiday away from anxiety attacks on holiday and being forced to buy CBD in places like Faliraki to beta block the cause regarding any change of personnel on the back of big club rumours being spread in the press about Burnley.

But who for ? 8-)

Think SD will wait until the transfer window closes before thinking about it

Maybe will want to see Pace put words into action before he commits himself

The manager procrastinating over committing to a new contract probably isn’t the best look when trying to refresh the playing squad.
