Re: Ian Woan
He certainly was. I remember thinking that he was pretty useful but those dead ball free kicks! He doesn’t look too old now.Couldn’t he put in a shift?

Re: Ian Woan
Dyche and Loughlan were nothing really compared to Woan or Stone.
Watched the Stone one too, didn't know he successively broke a leg 3 times.

Re: Ian Woan
Reminds me a lot of David Eyres.
Re: Ian Woan
He was a talented player. Could pick a pass as well. Saw him playing full-back for Forest once and his range of passing was exceptional.

Re: Ian Woan
Good video. Sounds like he would be up for a return to Forest if asked.

Re: Ian Woan
Have watched a few of these videos by ex Forest players and they all generally speak well of their time there. Some have some great funny stories about Clough when he was manager.Conroysleftfoot wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 8:08 amGood video. Sounds like he would be up for a return to Forest if asked.

Why are we so awful at direct free kicks now then?dermotdermot wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 3:42 amHe certainly was. I remember thinking that he was pretty useful but those dead ball free kicks! He doesn’t look too old now.Couldn’t he put in a shift?

Re: Ian Woan
Woan was my favourite wide midfielder of the early and mid-90s. He was a terrific ball carrier; a great crosser and had a wonderful strike on him. Scored some fabulous goals. Terrific left peg!

Really enjoyed watching that.
We have a manager and assistant manager who thrive on loyalty.
We are very lucky.

He went to school just down the road from where I live now. Other notable former pupils include Graham Branch and Mike Dean.

Big Everton fan
Re: Ian Woan
According to Wikipedia they’re both 53 (in fact it’s Dean’s 53rd birthday today, six days younger than me) so I guess they may have been classmates. Maybe that’s why we generally do ok with Dean as a ref!
Re: Ian Woan
He went with his dad? And got his dad to call Redknapp?
Dyche wouldn't have played him then haha
