I am gutted that I missed whatever thread this was on.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 3:55 pmThat silly thread I was actually tagged a drug pushing lunatic for arguing the case for an extreme minority of the population to be given low manageable doses of sedative drugs, only when driving is essential but the overwhelming preferred course of ideology is to let motorists on the road absolutely scared sh**less

Re: £30m for Chris Wood ?
worth way more than 30 million, one of a kind striker in the PL and invaluable to us. He's dramatically improved his offside numbers this season too. In today's crazy market I wouldn't even contemplate it for less than 55.75 million considering Brentford wanted more than 30 for Toney had they failed to get promoted

I’m surprised your ban is up that quickly...Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 11:48 pmYou actually missing something that's a surprise, if you refer to when Ashley Barnes had 1 too many Shandy's you might strike gold if the thread didn't get pulled.

Arsenal and Villa have both bid £40m for Emi Buendia, 24 at Norwich.
If these are the sort of figures out there for a player from the Championship with 1 season in the Prem then Wood, Mcneil, etc should be at least that or more.

What happened to the theory that this COVID era was going to suppress transfer fees?

I'm surprised by how high the fee is seeing he was available for 20m last summer, but there is a definite shortage of quality right wingers at the minute.leightonjameslegend wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 9:18 amArsenal and Villa have both bid £40m for Emi Buendia, 24 at Norwich.

And we certainly need one. Doesn't bode well at them prices.

Exactly and he didn't set the world alight in the Premier League 36 Apps 1 Goal and 7 assists.
Mcneil has 96 Apps, 7 Goals, 16 assists all in the Prem, a long contract so got to be worth more than £40m.
As for Wood 137 Apps, 47 Goals and 7 assists. Shouldn't be accepting anything less than £50m.

You do realise he's 30 in about 6 mths post peak with plummeting value.leightonjameslegend wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 10:08 amExactly and he didn't set the world alight in the Premier League 36 Apps 1 Goal and 7 assists.

I read that official bids had been made for £40m rated Buendia. Doesn’t mean the bids were £40m.leightonjameslegend wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 9:18 amArsenal and Villa have both bid £40m for Emi Buendia, 24 at Norwich.

Re: £30m for Chris Wood ?
His game doesn't rely on pace. He probably still has 4 seasons at the top to score 10+ goals a season. Of course, we wouldn't get £50m for him, but that is easily what his worth is to us. If we lost him it would be very difficult to replace him.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 10:17 amYou do realise he's 30 in about 6 mths post peak with plummeting value.

Re: £30m for Chris Wood ?
A lot of what I'm reading here is unrealistic. Taking into account his age (he's not 24) he would probably be priced at £15. In any case, he'll be staying with us!!

He's worth more than what we paid, he's a proven PL striker even at his age he's worth closer to £30 million.Im_not_Robbie_Blake wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 10:58 amA lot of what I'm reading here is unrealistic. Re: £30m for Chris Wood ?
I understand what you are essentially saying, you set the price high to deter bidders, I agree we would have spend a lot of money to get a like for like replacement, makes no sense in selling unless it's silly money offered or he wants out.leightonjameslegend wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 10:58 amHis game doesn't rely on pace.
