Which shops would you like to see in Burnley?
IF the Council gave everyone a 12 months trial of NO Rates, which shops would you like to see open?
For starters (and lunchtimes), I'd like an Haffners Pie Shop

A £1.50 shop just to try and break the chain of the 100 £1 shops!

One where I can get my Aiscout uniform and toggle
Re: Which shops would you like to see in Burnley?
Nandos.
I dont rate it, just a lot of people I know drive many a mile for one and end up spending money in other towns, when really it would be better spent in our community , in our locally owned businesses and helping keep our community in jobs.

Ann Summers Megastore. Partnered with BFC Club Shop. Could do their own range of Claret & Blue lingerie, fluffy handcuffs, Bene & Hot flavoured condoms.

An alternative to charity shops, vaping shops and coffee sellers would be good.

A football shop/cafe/bar where you go for a chat and buy & sell or swap football memorabilia. Also internet to have football tournaments and games like sensible soccer(showing my age now)

A really good delicatessen something you don't really want or cannot buy on line as you need to taste and smell.

Via Roma on St James street
Tessuti just opened too next to river Island
Both sell a wide range of designer mens clothing
If you dont do designer but want quality you have M&S, River Island and Next
Not sure if theres still a Burtons.
Then if your going ultra cheap there's even a Primark.
I'm not sure what more range there could be for such a small town.

They'll (Waterstones) soon be in trouble if they open in Burnley.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 2:01 pmWe will need to be quick from what I’ve heard. In some trouble.
Unless they move big time into jizz mags and comics.

For a town like Burnley Tessuti is probably as good as it is going to get. There probably isn't the money to attract bigger and better.
The town could do with a good steak restaurant (one that actually serves proper steak) and a Whisky/ Bourbon bar would be nice

Tesutti is a bit chav-tastic, plenty of other towns have great independent men’s clothes shops like Triads, END, Working Class Heroes.

Living in the Past: A shop from the 60's where most of the posters on this board can relive the Glory Days.
it would have a non-functioning toilet with "The Orient Game" on the door
Pink space hoppers to relive the "Suicide Squad Experience"
And a ghost in the Attic for the "Bootham Crescent" experience (plus free KitKat)
lest we not forget we can't really it is rammed down our throats

Re: Which shops would you like to see in Burnley?
So what shops do you buy your clothing from, and would like to see in the town?
I do buy a lot of things on line if the savings are quite large, but the shops mentioned above also offer most things I'd ever need.
Scotts have a small range if clothing, but I usually only get trainers from there, and JD has quite a good range of trainers.
I'm not sure what other shops would make a do or Pope would shop at with the demographic of the town and surrounding areas.

Burton's - some folk on here still need to carry out their promises about revealing themselves in that particular shop window.

St James's Street was great back then, one stop was all you needed for Tonic Stapress, Tonic Suits, Abercrombie coats, Ben Shermans, Levi's, Wranglers and shirts with 'Penny Round' collars.

St Anne's R. C charity shop, but hope the manager is a bit more pleasant than the one in Accy. He's a grumpy sod!
